THURSDAY's THOUGHTS...#17

WHAT DID YOU GOOGLE THAT BROUGHT YOU TO THIS BLOG????
SOMEBODY TELL ME IN THE COMMENT SECTION PLEASE!!

1.Do you remember when G.rands biscuits were called Hu.ngry Jac.k and were regular sized??? Now the regular sized biscuits of the past are called Grands jr’s. I had some jr’s recently and they were just as good. Why did I start buying those huge biscuits????

2.I gave turkey sausage another try in my eating healthy quest. I just don’t like it. Nope I’m addicted to the pork. Mmmmm bacon. LOL!

3.I have nothing against the ga.ys I really don’t and I’m not trying to offend anyone. But it is still very unsettling to me to see a man that looks like a man I  mean with a beard and moustache dressed in women’s clothes or shoes especially heels. Moment of silence for R.ut.gers student. :(

4.I had to go to a government building today, and I saw some really strange things on my way to downtown Oakland. It was hot out.
a. a white man in a yellow blouse and short set o_O
b. a man with a mini tape recorder to his mouth busting rhymes loudly in the building. o_O
c. a white man pushing a file cart walks past crowd of black people busts out rapping Too Short?
d. and last but not least a black woman walking down the street in a short, short right under the butt black and orange mini dress with holes cut out all over it with her skin flab coming out the holes O_O

5.My Co.ke obsession has morphed into a real addiction again. I’m using C.oke to relieve my stress. If I don’t have one, I get a headache!  And when I drink it I actually feel better! It’s totally part of the derailing of my eating healthy plan. How am I drinking abut 64 oz of water a day but making sure to include two 8 oz glasses of C.oke? In a C.oke glass at that!

6.Last week I posted about the Vancouver acid hoax. Thankfully she was charged for her allegations and is also being charged with theft. I was not aware that 28,000 dollars was raised on her behalf and she started spending it on clothes and dinners with her parents. That story HERE. Now she a heffa! Ole crazy heffa!

7.BET has added The Co.sby show  to their line-up! Best decision they ever made! Happy Anniversary is still my favorite episode!

8.Seen and heard on Confessions of a City Girl. This video is just soooooooo wrong on all levels. Meet Bu.bba Sp.arks just kidding sister Hi D.olla. Are those her kids droppin it in the video? Bwhahahahahahaha! Somebody please call CPS (child protection services) the Rap police. and the fashion police!

9. Net.flix is a BOSS!

It's Sunday How bout a scripture and a song?

Years ago I remember singing songs along with the choir as a kid and not really understanding the meaning of the songs. Mom pushing you making you go sing even if you didn't want too!  If you know anything about church and gospel music it takes yeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaars for a song to get old! LOL!

This Sunday know that God is with you when you are going through struggles!  This song says Don't Wait Til the Battle is Over Shout Now because you KNOW in the end you're going to WIN! Another of Walter Hawkins classic best!

Deuteronomy 20:1 When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, [and] a people more than thou, be not afraid of them: for the LORD thy God [is] with thee, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.

Check out that choir! Back in the days before auditions. Meaning our choir not theirs I'm sure all those people can sang! You sang just because you wanted too Or your mother made you. LOL!

Do you have a go to song or go to scripture when you feel like situations/people are against you?

Please pause the music player below, click the link and be encouraged. No matter what you're going through with God in your life you can win!

THURSDAY's THOUGHTS...#16

1.I know by now ya’ll have heard about THIS! So people are still using us as scapegoats in their foolishness. Woman admits acid attack was self-inflicted First claimed BLACK woman did it. How is this type of foolishness still happening in 2010????? The composite sketch she gave looked like an alien to me. But turns out a real person was scared and went into hiding. That story here. If this was 1960 can you imagine the mass hysteria this allegation could have caused?

2.I use love and hate a lot. My aunt says Hate is such a strong word. Really??? I try to use like but it doesn’t have the same impact to me. I mostly just love it or hate it *shrugs*

3.How much of a fan are you of your favorite TV show or movie?? Would you actually buy and wear a t-shirt from the show or movie? I’m a True Blood and Criminal Minds fan but I wouldn't walk around in a t-shirt about it. Although I'm into Twilight, the Team T's make me gag! I dub thee Super Fan if you do. LOLOLOLOLOL!

4.Have you heard about the What Would Jesus Eat diet?? WWJE LOL! It actually sounds healthy! All right Jesus!

5.Why am I already thinking about Thanksgiving? I mean seriously planning a menu??? It is P.S. I love this… fault.

6.I need new music on my i pod! I’m tired of listening to the same songs but too cheap to buy more. Does anybody know any free, virus free, music sites?

7. Just when you think it’s safe it’s not. Now there is some fool attacking women at Lake Merritt. I don’t workout there alone but I used to see a lot of women running and walking at night when we were out there. I’m disgusted with the world right now!

8.Has anybody else noticed that crime shows use the same criminals for different shows. I was watching Criminal Minds and this crazy murdering serial killer was about to be executed. But last week I saw this same man playing a serial killer on Rizzoli and Isles I like that show too. He really does look like a crazy weird killer. Talk about type casting.

9. Did you see the Top Chef DC reunion show?TIFFAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNYYYYYYY! I just love her personality! @mrstdj watch you DVR episodes, then watch the reunion! You will be happy! : )

10.Seen and heard While watching Black to the Future flashback 1970’s on VH1 Fred Sanford told Aunt Esther "I could stick your head in some dough and make some gorilla cookies." Her response "you ole fish eyed fool!" Whaat?????????????? Bwhahahahahaha! They really cracked on each other a lot on that show.

Blog Beefin (my own) whaat you??? yep.

Get ready for my longest post EVER!! And also an introduction to the another side of GP.

Recently the blog world was in an uproar over a post on a blog that caused quite a fervor between married ladies/almost married ladies and single gals. This post is NOT about that! Also, two other bloggers I frequently read both recently posted about blog beefs and "internet gangstas."

This got me to thinking about my own blogger etiquette. Awhile back I mentioned in my Thursday's Thoughts that I had a blog beef with a male blogger. It was about race and complexion. I just happened to be perusing the net checking out a few blogs I frequent and I came across this interesting post from this particular blogger HERE.

I read her comments to her post and came across a response from a guy who frequently comments on her blog. I had no problem with her post. It was her blog and her feelings about race and how her skin color has affected her life. What bothered me was the comment from this dude HERE. Let's call him mr t.

His comment made me feel some kinda way. I ended up responding directly to him and he responded back hence a blog beef ensued. We eventually took our back and forth off her blog (because it was rude) and into email. It didn't matter. He was still all about sarcasm and ignorance. When I encounter people like that I let them be. He clearly was not trying to hear me. He then went so far as to immortalize me (his words) on his blog forever

In retrospect I may have originally came at him hard but I hate ignorance, especially when it comes to race. What struck me even more was after I read stalked his blog for minute LOL! he put up a pic of himself and he is a dark complexioned man even darker than his avatar. This confirmed my thoughts of his own self hatred. He also chose the darkest avatar to represent me. Which in truth I'm closer in complexion to his avatar.

I thought about my comments and wanted your opinions about it. I'm curious after you read my responses if I too am an "internet gangsta". I try to keep my blog trivial and light because my real life is complex, studious, and sometimes hard. This post is where real life and blog world intersect.

It's Sunday How bout a scripture and a song?

2 weeks ago I posted about the feeling I used to get when Sunday came. Loving church came natural to me. My grandmother was Very religious and went to church every Sunday, only listened to gospel music and only wore dresses!

My mother was what I would call a reluctant christian. We went to church because it was what our family did, and we all churched together. But our home life was completely different. To use a phrase coined by Jameil we were a family of holyghost pumpkins. LOL! Love it will use it forever!

Then one day it all changed. My mother visited a church for a revival they were having and BOOM!!! She was saved, and our lives changed forever. It became all church all the time. We left our family church and begin attending the "revival" church. It was cool and had lots of young people so I fell in love with going there.

Since it was all gospel all the time in the house and car, I began to appreciate gospel music on a whole new level. Around that time Karen Clark Sheard came out with a solo album and on it she had re-recorded Jesus is a Love Song! Originally recorded by her and her sisters.
What?? a love song to Jesus! Yassss!

Rom 8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Please pause the music player below, click the link and enjoy the awesome voice that is Karen Clark Sheard.

THURSDAY's THOUGHTS...#15

1.I thought when K.FC stopped promoting the Do.uble Do.wn heart attack sandwich that it’s novelty had fell off and it would be off the menu. Well it’s being promoted again. K.FC is trying to kill us. Don’t fall for it people!

2.Why didn’t anybody tell me that Steve Harvey is hosting the new Family Feud? I just happened to be home around lunch time and caught the end. I've always wanted to go on the show!!!! Umm just not with my family! LOL! Okay maybe a few of them. Steve said, to a black family “if you win this money(20,000) we gon get to hollerin and runnin and and tear this room up!” I died!

3.Why do tragic things have to happen before change is made??? Did you know a certain amount of people have to be KILLED at an intersection before a stop sign/stop light is installed. There was a massive gas explosion in San Bruno, CA that killed 4 people 3 are missing. P.acific G.as and E.lectric (PG.E) is currently checking all gas lines because of said explosion. But my suggestion is this, If you know the gas lines were installed in 1912 they should probably be checked and updated BEFORE they explode OKAY!!!!!!

4.I have this weird relationship with the follow button on blogs. I don’t follow until I’m a significant number. not that it makes a difference If you have 24 followers look for me at 25 if 99 I’m 100. LOL!  IDKY I guess it’s my own self importance.

5.I feel much like everyone else about the To.p Ch.ef finale parts 1 and 2 huh?? Is that still on? being a waste of time without Tiffany. I wonder if there was a drop in the ratings after her departure. I really hope so! Why didn't I know Kevin was black????? My bad

6.As much as I tried to fight it the Summer really does end after Labor Day. People transition into a whole different mind set. I failed in my KEEP SUMMER ALIVE campaign LOLOLOLOL!

7.As a semi reformed fast food junkie meaning I don’t go on the regular anymore but if that’s where the crowd is going I can eat something and sometimes I just NEED my fries. LOL! It is so annoying when fast food restaurants are advertised that aren’t in my area.Example Sonic. I'm not trying to drive no country miles to get a limeaide chiller. That dang cable!

8.This week I’m adding Seen and Heard to "Thursday Thoughts" People say the funniest stuff in the comment section of posts. I saw this  comment on Jameil’s blog from mrstdj “I thank God all the time for making pigs, because bacon is one of my best friends!” I like to DIED when I read that! Bwhahahahahahahahahahaha!

Chime in people! What do you think?

A True Blood Tuesday? Yes Yes Ya'll

Hey Trubbies,

THE FINALE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After all the anticipation leading up to the finale, I was personally a little underwhelmed.
Out of all the episodes I have the least to say about this one *shrugs*

The Kang was funny even in imminent death Bwhahahahaha!!! He looked like burnt toast!

I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo glad Eric didn't die!!!

When Sookie poured Talbot’s remains down the garbage disposal????????? I almost
DIED!!!! I thought the Kang was speaking in tongues at first.

OMG! Crystal’s inbred family??????? Sweet Baby Jesus!!!!!!!! Uncle Daddy????? Why??? Well Uncle Daddy is in the next memoriam! LOL!

Lafayette's hallucinations! WOW! He looked really afraid! Great actor! I love him!

Hmmmm so it IS René’s baby?? Hmmm.

Jesus is a witch? It just don’t seem right writing that for obvious reasons!

Tara's hair! I liked it. She looked good. FINALLY rid of  that"The Way She Move" hair.
I won’t keep thinking she's about to crump anymore! I knew her mother was gonna get it in with that Rev. poor delusional thang!

Did Sookie go up into a space ship? Well that's leaning toward the Ridiculous to me.
I didn't know Bill could fly? A fight to the death? Well alrighty then!

It’s been great being able to discuss a show I really like with you all. I wish I had started posting earlier in the season.

Okay it's your turn! Chime in on what were your favorite parts, thoughts, and opinions???

Well until next season..... Cheers to a great Season 3!!!!!!!!
and an anticipated Season 4!

It's Sunday How bout a scripture and a song?

On Thursday Sept. 9, 2010. Talented gospel singer Marvin Sapp lost his beautiful wife of 18 years to colon cancer. She was 43 years old.

Pastor Sapp was encouraged to write  gospel song "Never Would've Made It", by his wife after the loss of his father.  I hope he can again embrace the words to this song to help him through this terrible loss.
This Sunday I want to send out my prayers and condolences to him and his family.

Psalms 126:5 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.

THURSDAY's THOUGHTS...#14

1.I watched the Sound of Music for the first time on Sunday. Shout out to K Rock! I was enlightened about a few things. I had no idea the “Favorite Things” song came from this movie. The Do Re Me song?? And I fell out that she made the kids some play clothes from those curtains. Wait hold up did that fool just say Hiel Hitler???? What kind of  racist boobaloo am I watching here? And the Baronness, that lying heffa and that snitchin a** Ralph. Romance, intrigue, danger. An overall great movie. Two thumbs up!

2.The Project Runway haters! OMG the cast this season is so on my nerves. Step up your indivivdual game and stop complaining and hating. I hate them right now! I know it makes for good TV but Dang!

3.The previews to the new season of Hoarders scared me like a horror film. I couldn’t watch. The possum in the house, the bugs, people climbing over mountains and mountains of debris. I can’t!!!

4.Do you hate watching a TV show and it ends up being two parts and you don’t know if or when the conclusion is going to be played?? Yeah I hate that too! HOW DOES IT END??????

5.I got a shout out on another blog about Thursday’s Thoughts Awww! Thanks Mommy + Me. I feel so special! I really do! I also got a shout out about a comment I made on another blog. I thought the blogger was about to go in on me, but she didn’t. Would not have been a good idea! She wrote the post and I answered honestly. She said she thought about what I said. I was telling the truth. I can be a bit didactic, but it was said out of sista girl lurve!

6.Last week I was in awe because I saw a colonial woman with her baby wrapped in a Burberry blanket in the movie The Patriot. Well it turns out Burberry was founded by Thomas Burberry in 1835. So my eyes weren’t deceiving me!

7. A couple of Thursday’s back I talked about Es.tee La.uder and my new anti-aging regime. Well the end result is my face does not like it or anything new. I broke out and had acne like in my teens! Aargh~! My regular routine is washing with Cetaphil cleanser which was recommend by my dermatologist and moisturizing with Cetaphil moisturizer. I will continue with the EL eye cream. I also invested in a Clarasonic last November and it really does give you a cleaner face. Worth it! So totally worth it! I think I look refreshed. Back to pretty skin!

8.I like Joel Osteen. He is so uplifting and positive! Last Sunday nights sermon was "Have a Good Opinion of Yourself." And during the service he talked about exuding a quiet confidence and saying good things too yourself about you. I’m normally just like that, Positive and Confident. I know how to encourage myself, but lately I’ve had self doubt about my life and certain choices. This sermon got me almost back on track! Thanks Joel! He’s coming to Sacramento CA. November 5. I wanna go, and tickets are $23.30. In the big scheme of things that’s cheap, but I’ve never paid to see a preacher before. I do give offering! I thinks that will be their offering! Yep!

9. I pick new blogs to read based on witty comments by the commenter on other peoples blogs. If the comment makes me laugh out loud or is interesting, I have to check them out. That’s how I found AR Gal and MrsTDJ. So if you see me on a new blog I’m not blog stalking I just liked what I read! LOL! Speaking of stalking my sister had a FB stalker. Everytime she made a comment on someones page the stalker would make one too! Right after her!

10. I can officially say that I was truly disappointed with T.op Ch.ef  last week with Tiffany's departure. I had HIGH hopes a sista gurl was gonna take the title this year. Still mad! Still sad! BOO!
Tom said,"Tiffany had many fans, but I haven’t received too many angry tweets about her elimination." The hell!!!! I guess since it wouldn't have made a difference...? He also said, “I think it was clear to viewers that she was disadvantaged by the inadvertent freezing of her mussels and might not be able to fully compensate for their loss"...her concept just wasn’t as nuanced and sophisticated as the others. Curried fish over rice? Really?" I’ll stop there because he made me MAD with that last comment!!!

11. To.p M.odel premiered last night. I was interested in this show for years! Then I lost interest. I'm interested again!

12. "C.at Ladies" on Animal Planet! Bwhahahahahahahahahahaha! They have life altering????? attachments to their cats! I can't! Please no offense to the furry lovers.

A True Blood Tuesday? Yes Yes Ya'll

Hey Trubbies,

This week since there wasn't an episode of True Blood my focus is True Blood Trivia, Re-Caps and What Nots.

True Blood is wrapping up Season 3. What were the most exciting scenes, plots, story lines etc. for you?

It's the little things that I sometimes missed that I caught later that cracked me up. In the opening before the music in Episode 6 when Bill killed one of the guards at the Kang's house then attacked the Kang and got clowned. Did you see Sookie and Talbot scream like girls! Hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also did ya'll see Budda from I Love New York as one of the guards in Episode 1?

What did you think of Snoop Dog’s Ode to Sookie. I personally thought it was the most ghettorific, buffoonish, tomfoolery I’ve ever heard and I could NOT stop laughing! But mostly it was just Whack!

Arlene’s dude use to be on Gilmore Girl’s in 2000 as Rory’s friend dude. He either aged horribly in 10 years, or maybe it's just his character on the show. Excellent make-up! his name is Todd Lowe

Which of the new characters from this season where your favorite? Mine was Alcide! Just finenesssss!

Which character/s annoyed you the most?  I fricken hated the Mickens!! All they triflin free loadin selves!

I really like some of the songs as True Blood goes off and how they tie into the episode! Genius!

and for those of you who missed the True Blood In Memoriam. OMG that cat. What was funny about the cat was the fact that there was a cat in the memoriam. A cat! Bwhahahahaha!
I tried to get it straight but blogger is trippin click an enlarge it to see everything.

Super rockin Rolling Stone Picture. They made Rolling Stone!

Reluctant Labor Day fit

I was dragged to a picnic against my will at 10:30 am this morning. My hair was not done and I had NO plans to go anywhere. I pulled my hair into a ponytail stuffed it under a hat, and found something cute and casual to wear. Put on my make-up and out the door we went. Booooooooooooo! LOL!

I wore this floppy black diva hat to cover my hair.
These Tory Burch sandals
and this super cute romper from K.ohl's. I saw it. I liked it. I bought it and it was a steal at 17.00.
Imagine my humph! that its now on sale for more off!

Oddly the weather was  a super nice 88 degrees today. That and the food was DELISH!!!

It's Sunday How bout a scripture and a song?

Sunday morning! Getting ready for church. Can't wait too get there! Praise and Worship, Pastor preaching! Choir singing, People dancing, praying, crying, shouting, running all in praise to God. Yeah this is how we got down! *smile*

When Sunday comes!

Hebrew 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some [is]; but exhorting [one another]: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

I miss church a lot! It went from being what I described above to a catty, cliquish, burdensome headache!
My pastor had passed away previously so finding a new church was a tedious task. When I found one, I was sorta of happy for awhile. But how do you go to a church for almost 5 years and still not be apart??

The cliques were strong and to be "saints" those people were evil! I learned long ago. To not hold "Christians" in too high regard. They are just people. Humans with no special powers. They are supposed to read and abide by the rules of the bible, Love thy neighbor etc . But many don't and it is reflected in their actions.

I was told by many of the older saints at the church to just come to church, then go home with no interaction with the parishioners. I am not that type. I wanted to be active, and  participate and be involved.. This did not happen the way I thought/felt so I left that church. I've only been back one time for an Easter Sunday service. I took theCaptain's mom with me. Sadly, she even felt the distantness.

I am currently in a quest for a new church. Somehow my motivation is not the same to find one. It has become easy to keep my Sunday's for myself. Church hurts are real ya'll!  Pray for me.

When I was younger I had to the opportunity see Darryl Coley live in concert! It was one of the most touching emotional services of my life! Talk about an anointed voice! Some people don't know about THE VOICE.

Please pause the music player below and click the link and enjoy Donald Lawrence and the Tri City Singers featuring Darryl Coley When Sunday comes!  FYI The singing begins at 1:17.

Lanvin at H&M this fall... Say Whaat???

For all the fashion heads like myself. FYI  LANVIN

The San Jose Mercury News Reports

NEW YORK -- Lanvin will be the next high-fashion house to become a partner of fast-fashion retailer H&M.

The joint collection, featuring womenswear and menswear, will go on sale Nov. 20 in North America
H&M has made a habit, a fairly successful one, of joining with top fashion names for limited-edition, buzzed-about collection. Previous partners included Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney  and last year was Jimmy Choo.

Those names are well known to the mass-market audience; Paris-based Lanvin is more of a fashion insider's favorite brand.

H&M will preview the collection to the public in an online film on H&M.com on Nov. 1.
___________
Lanvin is a really pricey high end line sold at Barney's, Neiman Marcus etc. It's very edgy and FIERCE!
I'm excited to see the line at a more affordable price. I'm so there November 20, 2010. Will you ?

THURSDAY's THOUGHTS...#13

1.Why after significant weight loss do people look like bobble head dolls. You have clearly lost too much weight if your head is bigger than your body! Example Sara Rue Jenny Craig, Marie Osmond Nutri-System, Thin Oprah!

2.To be soo scary I used to read Stephen King books and watch his movies. Why? I don’t know? His books are definitely more scary than his movies. I watched a few classics and they did the books no justice.
Did you know that new show Haven on Sci Fi is from one of his books! I saw one episode it was okay.

3.I recently watched a "Disaster Date" on MTV were a white girl was “acting black” *blank stare* She had two kids and she kept saying “you know what Om sayin?” and backing it up on the date who was of course white. Her perceived blackness and single baby mama status was the disaster. Really MTV REALLY???

4.I have always wanted to be in commercials. I’ve done nothing to pursue this endeavor its just a want. Every time I see an air freshener commercial I’m like I could do that! Yep air freshener! LOL!

5.I want to go on the Price is Right I’ve added it to my list of things to do before…I die!
GORGEOUS PUDDIN COME ON DOWN!!!!!! I bid the exact price for some great prize like jewelery I get called up on stage to play a game for… A NEW CAR!!!! I win the car! I spin to be in the showcase and get exactly 100 and win the $1000 I get my bonus spin and win $10,000. I’m in the showcase I bid within 100 dollars of my showcase and win BOTH!!!!!!! showcases which includes another car, a motor home, three trips Italy Australia and Dubai, a 60 inch flat screen, a blue ray, an i Pad, a hot tub, a boat, a Vespa, new furniture, appliances, and Calphalon Unison Nonstick cookware. A girl can dream right?

6.What is going on with the Asians??? They’re usually so even mannered. Today in the Bay Area after a high speed chase and Asian man was gunned down by police.(click here for that story) He is suspected of killing 4 possibly 5 people over the last week!!!??? And today the man (also gunned down by police) who was going to blow up The Discovery Channels offices because he had issue with their programming? Huh? Was Asian also. WOW!(click here for that story)

7.How old is Burberry? I was flipping through the channels and landed on “The Patriot” I’m not really a war movie type so I’ve never seen this movie. During this scene a large group of people were walking and Native Americans were running up an tomahawking them! As appalling as that was, what caught my eye was a colonial woman had her baby wrapped in what appeared to be a Burberry blanket!!!!!!! Burberry? I guess they brought it over on the boats from England!

8.Labor Day kinda snuck/sneaked? up on me. It’s considered by some the end of summer. The last day for the big barbecue etc. Well not me! I’m fighting summer’s end with a vengeance! Summer officially ends Sept 23 and I’m going to keep acting like its summer and wearing white as much as I want! Humph! *folds arms and stomps feet*

9. Top Chef D.C. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They KNOW WHY! I'm fighting mad. Take that!
Bruce Lee
