It's Sunday: Thoughts on prayer and a scripture

I just found this on Pinterest and it was so profound I had to post it. When I pray I normally pray about things that are affecting me at that moment, prayers of thanks or tangible prayers, but it has never struck me to pray for the impossible. What a profound concept!

I'm always speaking on or quoting the scripture...

Ephesians 3:20 Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.

Especially the above all I can ask or think part. And personally I believe I think BIG! But what about what's past my own thoughts? Bigger than me? Bigger than my wants or desires?

Again, what a profound concept. What if I began to pray for things I think are impossible?

What would God do?

Now that's taking Him out of the box!

The power that works in us is important too. People overlook that part of the scripture, but we obtain power from God through prayer and he can continue to bless as us as we stay connected to him. When my life gets crazy most times it's because I've slacked up on what I know to do which is Pray.

I just wanted to share my thoughts... Thanks for listening.

It's Sunday...

A LOVE song to my Savior.

I just need y'all to know God has truly been showing up and showing out in my life.  Just answering prayers left and right! I'm AMAZED! I praise him and I thank him! He is more than life to me!! Here's another oldie but goodie from Kirk Franklin.

Scripture:
Psalms 63: 3 Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. KJV

Psalms 63:3  Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. NIV

It's Sunday a Scripture and Song

Men of Standard. What can I say about them. They are just anointed men of God. Great harmony! This is a good song to listen to to set the mood/tone for prayer. Takes me there every time.  An oldie but goodie for sure.

Scripture: Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

I don't care what anyone says about him... I love me some Kirk Franklin and his music! This song got me through some low dark days. Enjoy!

Scripture: Nehemiah 8:10 Then he said unto them, Go your way , eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared : for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.

It's Sunday: Put it on the Altar

An altar call is a practice in churches were those who wish to make a new/renew a spiritual commitment to God are invited to come forward. It is named because people gather at the altar located at the front of the church.

In the Old Testament, an altar was where sacrifices were made. So, the name "altar call" refers to a believer "offering" themselves on an altar to God. Source Wikipedia

In my church we believe if you have a problem, burden or concern that is too much for you to bear.... you bring it to God by putting it on the altar, praying... then everything would be alright! Amen!

Scripture:
Romans 12:1:
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

It's Sunday.... on a Friday. Yup!

*sings* He saw the best in me! The title and the beginning words to this song bless me. Marvin Sapp is truly anointed to sing this song.

Anytime I'm down, in doubt, confused, or discouraged. I remember God sees me for who I am and he loves me. Even when I'm excited, hopeful and encouraged I remember God sees me for who I am and loves me. Either way it's GOOD! :D

I am so glad the God is not like man. God see's the best in us NO MATTER WHAT!
 Song:

Scripture: John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

A Month in Pictures: Day 5 - 10:00 AM and It's Sunday .....

What am I doing at 10:00 am?? Cooking. There's just something about a Sunday Morning that makes me want to cook breakfast!! As a child, eating Sunday breakfast together was something we did before church sometimes. A good bowl of cereal was on deck some days too. lol Going to church and staying all those hours on an empty stomach is so NOT the business!

Today, I'm cooking up some hashbrowns for this breakfast. The rest of this meal will consist of scrambled eggs and toast with butter and jelly. Sadly NO bacon and I have the sads! I mean, what is breakfast without bac-o-licious, pork-tastic, salty hog slabs of crispy goodness?

Anywhoo, I went to a diner once that served their hashbrowns with a sprinkle of cheddar and a dollop of sour cream. At first I was put off cuz imma ketchup kinda girl, but as it turns out that's a rather tasty combination.

I really just wanted to show ya'll I can make hashbrowns from scratch. Yep that's me... still in the vain of AWESOME!

And since it's Sunday I must add my scripture and song. How appropriate is "In The Morning" by Mary Mary?

Gen 19:27 And Abraham got up early in the morning to the place where he stood before the LORD.

It's Sunday... BLESSED

This song blessed me from the first time I heard it. I wanted to share it in case y'all don't know about Trin-I-tee 5:7  Just thinking about God's many blessings...

*takes praise break*

So even when I go through storms and lately there have been quite a few... (WHEW!!) along with a few repeats! I'm learning to go through them better, because my mind is now focused on knowing that in spite of ALL that I am BLESSED!

SCRIPTURE:
Deuteronomy 2:7
For the LORD thy God hath blessed thee in all the works of thy hand : he knoweth thy walking through this great wilderness : these forty years the LORD thy God hath been with thee; thou hast lacked nothing.

Mat 2:10 -11
When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.
And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshiped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.

It's Sunday... LOVE

just a reminder

*It's Sunday. How bout a scripture and a song?

Scripture:
Ezekiel 37:9
Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.

I used to pray on the regular, meaning every morning at 6 am. Having a prayer life was essential to having a close relationship with God for me. However, praying every day was sometimes boring, tedious and tiresome, but it was like an unspoken rule of my churches religion. You also had to pray for a certain length of time. So some mornings I needed motivation to get started. This song would get me to my worship place. Once I got started prayer was okay!
Song:

It was easy to call on God and thank him for his many blessings, pray for my loved ones, and of course ask him for help when needed.

At present, that seems like a lifetime ago. It's funny how lifestyles can change for better or worse. I was once a devoted church girl where everything was a sin and everybody was a heathen! I knew the confines of my religion were not quite right, but it's all I knew. Although I don't want that anymore, I do feel like a lost wandering soul. I still yearn for the peace and comfort that comes from having a close relationship with God, a regular prayer life, and a church home. It has been far too long. This time when I find IT I know there is a balance needed because I will have been full circle.

Please pause the player below and listen to the song.

It's Sunday... and It's About Jesus

This is another song that has helped me through my job struggle. I know I can be a spoiled brat. This song gave me focus. I tend to think everything is about me...but I found when I take the focus off me things get better! I must always remember where my help comes from.

Psalms 121:1-2 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence [cometh] my helpMy help [cometh] from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.

It's still Sunday!

This song right here!

Recently I've lamented about my current work woes. One of the main problems right out the gate  was the position was a misrepresentation of the job description. I really HATE when something is presented one way and ends up being something TOTALLY different! I did not want to be labeled as a troublemaker. I had just started the dang job, so at work I would just bear it (no grin). That said...I was angry, frustrated and just over all feeling downtrodden and trapped in my situation, not to mention my complaining.

Oh Gawd! I complained so much to anyone who would listen. I was even tired of myself! Sorry :(  :) Anywhoo, This song right here is the one that helped me make it through the day. Many days I wanted to get in my car and drive off and never come back! Just drive away... This song helped suppress that urge.

Eden

1.the place where Adam and Eve lived before the Fall. Gen. 2:8–24.
2.any delightful region or abode; paradise.
3. a state of perfect happiness or bliss.

Genesis 2:15 And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.

Gen 3:24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.
