We used to play a game in church where you would have to jump up and quote your favorite scripture. This was my go to scripture!

Walter Hawkins passed away July 11, 2010. This was a great loss to the gospel community. He was a great singer and song writer who blessed many with his songs of hope, praise and thanks!

He has a classic song entitled Thank You Lord, that if you've ever been to church or in church for any amount of time you've heard this song or have even sung it with your choir.

 This Sunday I just want to give the Lord thanks for keeping me through all I'm going through. Thank you LORD!!

THURSDAY's THOUGHTS...#12 On a Wednesday?

1.I love creamy desserts! Key lime pie, Crème Brule, cheesecake, puddings, ice cream all things creamy!
 I like cake too! One thing I would never eat was bread pudding. I HATED bread pudding but I went to this fancy little spot and Yum Yum their chocolate bread pudding is slap somebody good!

2.Fine dining for less! I received a birthday email from one of my favorite places to dine . It came this month in August. My B-day is in March. O_O They said it was a computer glitch. The coupon was buy one entrée and get the other for free. They were also having 25% off all gift cards. Let’s add this up. I bought a $50 gift card for $37.50! So with food and drink. 1 meal was free! A normally $85 meal for 37.50 bucks! Score!

3.My blood type is AB negative. Which I understand to be really rare. I’m so special!

4.Aarti won!!! Next Food Network Star! I’m sooo happy for her. Aarti Paarti premiered this past Sunday. Did anyone watch? I did. Sort of.

5.I get an extreme kick out of seeing things that I own on TV commercials and shows. Example: I saw my rug in a Glade commercial. A shirt and a pair of sunglasses on a t.v. show. There’s more but I’ll stop here. LOL!

6.The California Lottery Mega millions is 115 million!! I wanna win!!!!*sings* All I do is win, win no matter what! I need that to apply in this instance for real! Everybody hands go up!!!

7.What’s up with all the devil movies??? I’m kinda scary but I made myself not be scared of things that are clearly NOT real like vampires, werewolves, Jason, Freddie, Michael Myers etc. But I never could get with the devil movies. To date I have never seen the Exorcist. I just watched Rosemary's Baby this year. I watched the remake of the Omen on TV then the original which almost scared me to death! Just this year I finally saw all of The Devils Advocate without covering my eyes. LOL! But all these new devil flicks No ma’m! And why do they promote them so heavily???? Every commercial break? Really?!?

8.I am still hooked on "the creamy crack", and I just can't "stop living the lye" LOL! I’ve decided I’m only getting four relaxers a year. This is my first time stretching my relaxer to 12 weeks. Whew it’s been rough! Sept 4th will be my 12th week and relaxer date. Can anybody recommend a good detangler?

9.Everything is whole grain or multi grain now. Which I like. It's helping me make healthier food choices. I recently purchased some multi grain saltine crackers. Umm no difference to me! I should have just gotten the unsalted’s like I normally do.

10.Is anybody watching Money Hungry on VH1. Whyyyyyy is there ALWAYS a character???????????? Where do they find these people???????? Phillip is hilarious! I watch just to see what he's going to do or say next!

11. This commercial STILL cracks me up! Bwhahahahahahha!!!!!! But the REMIX Oh GAWD!!!!

I just realized it’s only two episodes left. Wow this season flew by. I guess that’s why they are revealing so much this episode.

Well its revealed...Sookie is a fairy/farie alien? LOL! Why is that other fairy's name Claudine???

What's the truth????????/ Can we handle the truth???? What is Bill hiding?

So Sam has a DARK side. Interesting. I wouldn’t have thought thief/murderer. Did you? When he shot dude in the back that was hardcore gangster ish and a little cowardly!

Tara was so grateful to Jason for saving her she wanted to give him a taste. I didn't like it. No chemistry! Why did Jason tell Tara about Eggs at that moment????????? Excellent acting in that scene from her tho. Did you see her face?

Okay I know this is not relevant but Rutina kept looking like she was about to start crumpin while she had on that tank top with her hair in that ponytail!

So the waitress is Wiccan. Um okay but she is still a witch. I read that Wicca is the actual religion or practice of witches. I think she is a real witch not just practicing.
Sam,"You got anything that works for noisiness and bad boundaries?" Bwhahahahahahahha!

Very noble of Terry to decide to be the father of Arlene’s baby. I still think the baby is his and not Renée. What do ya’ll think?

OMG!!!! The V trip Lafayette and Jesus went on was revealing and scary at the same time.

Ooooo Jesus' abeulo was into the bad voodoo. Black dark voodoo. Did his grandfather turn into a demon? That scared me. This has to mean trouble. A conjurer and sorcerer in both their pasts???????? Hmmm.

*sidebar*According to the dictionary both words mean about the same thing, a magician, or somebody who summons supposed supernatural forces or beings. Spoooookeeey!

Okay so Crystal IS a panther. Not a very cute one I might add. What’s up with the whiskers? Oh cause she’s a blonde? Jason was scared! He said mama LOL! I thought Bill was going rogue and came back in. But I guess he couldn't really do that being a vampire.

When Jason put Bill out! I laughed. Don’t you just wish you could do people like that. Say get the f**k out and they go like that?

And Jessica and Hoyt!!! When he was sucking Jessica's blood it seemed really sexual! I wonder what changes are in store for him???

So the Kang found him a Talbot look alike. Wasn’t that weird when dude died he turned into Talbot briefly? Those vampires are so magically delicious. LOL!

When Eric kissed Sookie it looked he wanted to suck her inside him. That’s sooome passion!

Eric got Sookie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do you think it’s because of what Pam said? It seems like he really loves/lusts her so that last scene caught me off guard.

**note** On-screen and off-screen couple Anna Paquin(Sookie) and Stephen Moyer(Bill) got married Saturday, August 21, 2010 in a secret late night wedding in Malibu. I guess that passion on screen from last week was REAL!!!!!!!

My pastor would refer to this a lot during his sermons.  I have to keep believing that joy is coming in the morning!

I'm Back... My trip to the SUN

Oh my! The trip to the sun was so much fun! It was really an agenda trip. One of our friends ( L) was graduating from nursing school and me and another friend ( D) drove down to show our support! ( L) was so surprised because she stayed unsure if we would come because the graduation was in the middle of the work week!

Anywhoo we rented this from H.ertz

Yep burning up the highway in a freakin yellow Camaro. So fun! The trip only took 4 1/2 hours to get there 5 hours to get back. We were rollin!

We stopped for gas and drinks in some town. I got out of the car and almost melted like a hershey's kiss. It felt 100 degrees! Sooooooooooooo HOT!  I definitely got what I wanted heat wise!

*side note* I am completely in love with McD caramel frappes It's what I got when we stopped. It is my go to icy treat when it's hot. Okay I'm lying it hasn't been hot. It's just my go to treat! LOL! Last summer it was the iced coffee, the summer before it was the iced tea!

When we got to L.A. we had breakfast lunch at a favorite of mine Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles.
I always get the same thing the { 9. Country Boy} 3 yummy fried wings and a crispy, buttery waffle with maple syrup. Deelish!

The Graduation was held at the C.hevy Cha.se Country Club in Glendale, CA. It was really an elegant affair! I'm so glad I went. It was great to see a friend accomplish something and get closer to her dreams! I personally love graduations. I yelled and clapped so loud. Yeah THEY were looking at me *shrugs*

We stayed at a gem of a hotel near the Burbank airport. Many of ( L) other family and friends flew down and were staying here so we stayed here too. The Marriot Burbank is AWESOME!!!! click the link!
I will be going back with theCaptain! It had less of a Marriot feel and more of a boutique hotel feel. I LOVED it!

We all ended up going back to the hotel after the graduation to eat and drink.
The Daily Grill had tasty food and was really cute to me! I shared some yummy popcorn shrimp with ( D )

Overall it was a Great overnite trip. I'm so glad I went! I will definitely do this again!

A True Blood Tuesday? Yes Yes Ya'll

What up Trubbies? How's it fangin? I couldn't resist being corny Ha!

Okay so this weeks episode was not as exciting to me but riveting none the less.I usually watch it three times just in case I missed something.  And remember last week when I said I would be all over the place with my recaps. It is so!

First off FRANKLIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I knew it. I said in the comments that Tara didn’t severe his head or stake him and sure enough he showed up! Too bad his arrival was short lived.

Jason and the wooden bullets! Priceless!!! For some reason I hollered in laughter when he shot Franklin! Franklin was really a crazy vamp REALLY!

Poor Tara now she’s gonna have the hero worship of Jason been there not good And it doesn’t help that she’s still in love with him. Did you see her face when he was trying to stop Crystal?

Speaking of Crystal what’s up with that? That’s some serious family loyalty!

OMG!! Sam took his pent up anger/rage out on Crystal's father. It looked like he was beating errbody whoever F’d with him. And did you see the glee on Sam's brothers face?? He is gonna be trouble!

Sookie is a powerful something!!! So Bill was transported to the magical place just by drinking her blood? And he’s so animalistic now! Why was his first instinct to attack the water lady? She light blasted his a** though!

Hadley’s son has the power too! Cool! Hadley was a wreck! So her storyline is getting increased with the addition of a son. Did you know she had one? Was this Season 1 info? Anywhoo I guess they had to introduce more family with the power. Interesting!

Did you notice this week how they softened the new waitresses face???? She looked evil to me last week. I don’t trust her and I know she’s up to something. I think she played Tara with her rape story. Just trying to draw her in. to what I don't know.

Hoyt’s new girlfriend and her dolls Really! What grown a** woman carries dolls?????? He was TOO honest with Jessica did she glamour him?

OMG!!! Russell the Vampire Kang is a fool. He done gone crazy!!! I wasn’t ready when he scooped Talbot up off the floor and was hugging Talbot goo. Ewwww! The raw emotion and pain! WOW!!!!
He was carrying Talbot around in that crystal jar like he was some red licorice! Bwhahahahahahaha!
I was totally not ready for him to show up and kill that newsman on live T.V.  and just hold his insides in his hand like that!!!  Then that fool said "Now for the weather world Tiffany." I DIED!!!!! A dang fool I tell you ! He looked like Dracula! It was shocking.

It's Sunday How bout a scripture and a song?

One of my favorite scriptures is
Create in me a clean heart O God; and renew the right spirit within me Psalms 51:10

It's my go to scripture when I feel I  have not behaved quite right in situations or showed my human side just a little too much. In an effort to be a right person when faced with right and wrong, I look to this passage time and time again to help me make the right choices.

What does it mean to be filled with the right spirit for you? What is right? Can sometimes doing the wrong thing or making the wrong choice end up right?

I think when wanting a clean life we need God to breath into us to help renew a right spirit within us.

Fred  Hammond is another of my favorite gospel singers. He is another Praise and Worship leader who can usher in the presence of the Lord. This is an awesome and amazing gift!

THURSDAY's THOUGHTS...#11

1.Watching shows where the characters have died in real life freaks me out sometimes. All except the Bernie Mac show I can watch that and crack up until the episode with him and Isaac Hayes that episode freaks me out. Two dead people in the same episode I can’t!!!! I obviously need to watch more old movies, everybody’s dead in those!

2.Who’s excited about Top Chef Just Desserts !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and The Great Food Truck Race!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????????? ME! Final three on The Next Food Network Star!

3. I’m really facing a dilemma! I started a M.A. program that I HATED HATED HATED!!!!!! it was totally not what I expected. I mean I hated EVERYTHING about it. The curriculum, the professors, the other students, the school. (I know that sounds bad) I have gone through this long process of ending that program and trying to transfer some of my units to another school and different program. Oh they gave/are giving me so much Stress, Drama and Flack! I felt like the first person in the world to hate a master’s program and want to change. The advisor was like “that is unheard of. You should have planned better” etc. Okay maybe I should have. But I didn’t. Just freakin help me lady!

4. I’ve been on my hair journey for 7 months. It seems that since I’m so focused on my hair it’s growing at a snails pace. I did the Big Chop in February and turned around got a relaxer. I know! Who does that???? My hair is this weird length that I’m not used to. It has grown out from the short cut, but is not back to it’s original bra strap length, and I don’t like it! Maybe I could cut it again so it can look better, but I don’t want to cut it, so it can grow back. My life is a mess right now with all this indecisiveness!!!

5. Face Book is officially dead to me. DEAD! The kiddies, nuts, baby mama/daddies, jump-offs, exes and bitters have taken over. My sisters had a fight online for all the world too see WTH?????? I had people calling me asking what the heck was going on? *sigh* I’m so ready for the next new thing in social networking!

6. Why is fattening food soooooo good??? Mmmmm a Philly cheesesteak hoagie with good cheese, extra sweet/hot peppers and tomatoes vs. a mixed greens salad with tomato, cucumbers, bell peppers, baby carrots tossed in olive oil and lemon. Yum NOT!

7. Fall is almost here!! It’s my favorite season. I love Fall. This year I’m loving the rocker chick/military vibe of clothes this year. I like the studs and embellishments. What are you loving and what are your Fall must haves? I must have a new pair of boots this Fall.

8. Do you know who Russell Brand is? He’s a pretty funny British comedian. Well he is remaking the comedy Arthur!! Dudley Moore was a hilarious actor and I‘m interested to see Russell’s take on the role but I've never seen the original. I just liked Dudley Moore. DVD time!

9. I usually don’t do telemarketers but I got a savvy gent recently. No matter what excuse I came up with he insisted on selling me a newspaper. I like the Sunday paper for the comics, the coupons and the Lifestyle section and I frequently buy it at the newsstand. But I tell you this guy was savvy????? I now have a subscription for the Sunday SF Chronicle for 35 cents, wrapped in plastic because I didn't want it to be damp or have bugs in an envelope labeled with my name on it because people steal newspapers around here and I wanted it to look official placed neatly on my front porch so I won't have to walk out into the yard every Sunday morning.

10. I frequently have run on sentences and I write so a lot. So this, so that *shrugs*

A True Blood Tuesday? Yes Yes Ya'll

I'm a True Blood fan and I want to talk about the show with other fans. I decided to wait until Tuesday in case you didn't catch it on Sunday the day it comes on   or the replay on Monday or in OnDemand.

I totally thought last season was crazy! But OMG!!! This season is totally wilder and crazier than I could have ever thought!

I'm not sure how many of you all watch True Blood, but on the show is a truly talented character named Lafayette. I tune in each week just to see what that fool will be up too!

I will be all over the place at times as thoughts come to my mind. Please bear with me!

Tara was a soldier last week! A Soldier!

Sam's family?!? Too much

Sukie and that wereb**ch Debbie's fight WOW!

and her sex scene with Bill? She sure got over him trying to suck her dry quick!

I knew Eric was about to make a move! I have a love/hate with his character but as they reveal more of his background I like him more. Next week is going to be even carazier!

Sometimes we need God's help. Some situations are too much, and I believe it's okay to need God and expect the need to be supplied! My pastor would say just scream out HELP!!! and we would scream it  out right there in service.




I need you now is one of my favorite gospel songs! I had the opportunity to see Smokie Norful live when this song first came out. You can feel his need for God's help! His testimony:

THURSDAY's THOUGHTS...#10 RANTS!!!!!!!

 

1. Lawrence Fishburne’s daughter Montana is doing porn SMH!  *sad face*She said, (and I quote)

"I've watched how successful Kim Kardashian became and I think a lot of it was due to the release of her sex tape. I'm hoping the same magic will work for me." She wants to be famous like Kim K and Paris H. This girl is 19 years old and I’m mostly mad at the state of the world. She has equated gaining celebrity via a sex tape the option for her??? from what were supposedly leaked "home videos" by Kim and Paris. Montana decides to go to a real porn house and be exploited. I mean her father is Lawrence Fishburne. I’m certain she could have gotten a role in a regular movie just on her name alone! I read her father is very upset. Umm yeah he should be!

2. Is the seafood in the Gulf safe to eat UMMMMMM NO!! Are they fishing the waters and beginning to sell the fish yes. WTHeck? On the news the fishermen said it's because the fish are no longer dead or dying. So because the fish have acclimated to the toxic waters its cool to eat them????!!!?


3. I just found out my favorite meal the Alice Springs Chicken at Outback Steakhouse (yes Jameil a chain) GASP!!  LOL! has 1,303 calories, 94 g fat, 2,146 mg sodium. WOW!!!
It's a grilled chicken breast topped with bacon, smothered in mushrooms, melted Monterey Jack and Cheddar cheeses, with a honey mustard sauce on the side Yum! I shouldn’t eat this ever again but I really love it. I only eat here about twice a year when others who love this place invite me out. I searched the web for a pic, now I want to go here.

4. Okay so I want a new car really bad. (feel free to click the buttons and change the colors to black) It's not feasible at this time to buy a new car. It's not even feasible to buy settle car 1 or settle car 2. struggling grad student and all,
In the last 2 months I’ve had a flat, my brake lights went out, I got a parking ticket, my tags expired(and remember the DMV went on strike after I had been in line forever) and somebody bent my front license plate. My car is making it hard for me to keep loving it. No I love my car, I love my car *wink*

5. The Beach Boys I know like who? were supposedly going to sue Katy Perry the I kissed a girl singer for a line in her song which says "I wish we all could be California girls." You may not know the history but, the Beach Boys were successfully sued by Chuck Berry for stealing the opening guitar rifts from his song that they used in Surfing USA one of their most popular songs and others. I’m glad they decided not to sue her, that would have been beyond hypocritical.


6. I have a confession. I like the Kardashians. (mostly for the designer fashion) I watch the show and I like Kris, Kim and Kourtney the most. Kim managed to start raking in millions due to a big butt and a smile. So I can’t knock the hustle.
That said, the media is grating my nerves with Kim’s new man a week coverage. Every since the break up with Reggie she’s been linked to a couple of different guys and that’s fine, but is this really news? My rant which goes back to the Montana Fishburne issue is glorifying the sex life of a non celebrity.What message is this sending to the kids.

7. How in the heck did I miss the premiere of Project Runway last week? Oh Tim Gun I'm soo sorry!

8. TheCaptain is mostly a chain restaurant eater. It can get frustrating because I'll say Oooo let's go here. He'll balk at the idea so I don't really ask to go to different places much. I adventure dine out with friends, but get this he gets mad and says I would’ve went when I tell him about different places I've been. HUH? Passive aggressive much?

9. I woke up this morning and the thermometer said it was 67 degrees in the house, it feels like 50, and that's cold !! I had to turn on the heater. It stayed gray and overcast until 1:00pm. The news said it will be overcast tomorrow with a chance of misting rain??!!?? Oh Summer where art thou????

So what was it about July 31, 2010?????? There were three "celebrity" weddings on that date.
7/31/10 doesn't seem that special a date to me. I remember when a ton of people were gettin hitched on 07/07/07, and 08/08/08 etc. Even 12/31/00. So what was the big deal about last Saturday?
