A New Post, A Birthday And Spring Oh My!

What better way to jump back into blogging then a post about my birthday and Spring?

I am so ready for Spring!! This winter was brutal. Not weather wise like the East Coast has suffered, but emotionally brutal. I may really have S.A.D.S. because this may have been the most depressive winter of my life! And it didn't help that a series of bad things happened to compound those down emotions. :(

But SPRING is HERE!!!

One of things that I like about my birthday besides the gifts lol is that (this year) it is one day before Spring starts. Spring for me this year is hope and new beginnings.

Hope for a better year

Hope for an exciting career.

and Hope for a better life.

I'm just so ready to shed the dark cloud of

bad feelings and down emotions like a winter coat.

Depression really does skew your view of life. Everything becomes all bad.

For a Wednesday my birthday was not bad. I'm off work so I was really able to enjoy the day. I decided last year that I will take my birthday off for the rest of my life. As it turns out, that's a GREAT decision. It really is terrible to work on your birthday.(unless you love your job) It's YOUR day and it is there for you to be celebrated. I must remember that.

The gifts are still coming in... but I bought a Huetiful Hair Steamer for myself. I've read such great things about how it helps to extra condition your hair to promote healthier hair and growth -- so we shall see.

I saw a tweet on Twitter about a Nate Berkus for Target gold stapler and I LOVE Nate! So I had to go see. Of course I fell in love as soon as I saw the stapler and had to buy it. So gift number 2 for me. I think I need gold staples too!

Clearly from the blog change you can see that I LIKE gold. Bling!

The person I was with felt like I needed a shower wrap and head wrap to go with my steamer. Believe me, I do not stop people from buying me things on my birthday ;) and the delicious Ikat print is AMAZE! It will definitely be a spa like experience when I wear them.

The rest of my day was completed with dinner and a movie. I was finally able to see the Ice Cube and Kevin Hart flick Ride Along and it was funny! I think Kevin Hart is hilarious and his star is shining!

Well its that time of year again!  MY BIRTHDAY!!!!        

Since it fell on a Tuesday this year... I just don't know. I foolishly decided to go to work but ended up having a good day (no supervisor)... 

I will take my birthday off for the rest of my life though. 

Surely I can find something fantastic to do besides working. lol

Anywhoo I plan to keep celebrating here and there and I may do a birthday round up I just haven't felt like blogging.

Shout out to the Lovely Ms Krissy for this fantastic tribute on her blog!! I feel so special!!! It was so Cali I felt like crip walking and so bougie at the same time LOL! She NAILED it!

Shout out to all the homies on Twitter!! The love was AMAZING!!! I really appreciate y'all too! :D

Count Down to... my Birthday 2012

It's almost my birthday annnnnnnnnnnnnnd it's storming! I was planning a statecation/staycation BUT it's storming. I don't like to go out in the rain and I've been out in the cold, pelting. flooding rain at least 3 days. The state is wet.  *sigh*  So I'm postponing my celebration until next weekend.

I want to get fly like a BOSS ;) and be out and about sans umbrella, coat and rainboots. I'll make it my Hunger Games B-day weekend! :)

I did manage to go out to dinner to a favorite restaurant of mine on Thursday evening with friends. Each year I decide how long I plan to celebrate and this year I decided 5 days would do.

Skates on the Bay is a lovely place literally on the bay.. built on stilts on the bay. On a sunny day it has one of the loveliest  bay views around.

The Pure Debauchery....

Okay so on Saturday my actual b-day it was storming like a mug. I am sitting at my house bored and my sister calls and says whatcha doing? I say nothing she says "get cute, put on a freakum dress, we going out."

I was like where??? I hate clubs and I especially hate clubbing around here. She was like nooooo you will like this it’s cool we just going to dance. Stop being soooooooooooooo boring!

I was bored and being boring so I said what the heck let’s go. All I wanna know is WHY???????

Why did my sister take me to this???

I mean what the heck!!!  It looks like a flyer for a strip club! But it wasn't?? You know what her reasoning was?? She said she knew the ninjas would be out due to the flyer. And she was right!!!! LOL! Turns out the Ultra lounge is nice. I would actually go back, but why such a skanky flyer??

All I know is after I got over being so dang bourgie. I LET LOOSE!! I’m always tame, dignified and all that but this year I’m single and that nite I decided it was okay to let loose and let loose I did OMG!! The dranks started flowing I started drinking this nasty by the way with pineapple juice and some other stuff.

This club(click events/ultra lounge) claims to be an upscale place for people of discerning taste. Well those folks stayed at the heezy on my rainy birthday. The full full moon brought out the hood rats, hookers, skanks, and scallywags. They were OUT and I was right up in thurr wit em. LOL!
I have not stayed out that late night in awhile and it was fun.  I danced my butt off to this! It was my song of the night!



I don’t remember everything but I do remember getting to the club, dancing, getting drinks, getting bought more drinks, dancing with the buyers, drinking, dancing, drinking while dancing. Meeting some fool named Bernard. Dancing some more. Bernard puttin his hands on me in places he shouldn't under my dress?!? The hell?? Me not stopping him. o_O according to my sister My sister coming to get me. Yanking me from Bernard Then...

Birthday Wishes and Gifts!!!!

So here is the Birthday Gift Run down.

My sister got me a card, paid for my food at P.F Changs, the movies and my movie snacks. She also got me a piece of princess cake (triple sec soaked sponge cake, whipped cream, vanilla custard, raspberry filling, green marzipan icing) Princess cake for the princess! LOL!

My Mother bought me dinner at Everett and Jones BBQ and gave me some flowers

and a card with 100.00 in it.

My Favorite Aunt and Uncle gave me 50.00 in a card. My cousin gave 50.00 in  a card. And other aunt gave me 5.00 in a card and joined me for EVJ dinner

My Bestie got me a card and cupcakes from my favorite bakery here and a gift card to MAC.

So beautiful and delicate at the same time. I LOVE IT!!!!!

Over all had a great Birthday this year. I loved the outpouring of love I received from my fam and friends. All of my cards were really special and heart felt.

With my money I'm thinking of buying a bike. So many people ride their bikes on the path where I workout so now I want one. I'm thinking about buying this one. It's a beach cruiser by Raleigh.

Birthday UPDATE!!

My Birthday was absolutely FABULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PISCES IN THE HOUSE!

I had a GREAT TIME!!  I  usually go out of town for my birthday. I had to postpone my trip to Vegas until the summer. Can't wait to go here VEGAS BABY!!!

So instead a group of  my friends and family took me out to dinner both Friday (my actual B-day) and Saturday.

On Friday we went to the movies to see "Repo Men", It's a movie set in the future about organ repossssion. Sort of like if you miss a car payment and they come take your car. Well if you miss an organ payement they come take your organ! Very gory and Definitely NOT a chick flick.  It was pretty good. I'd give it a B-
I didn't like the ending. The popcorn was scrumptious!

then we went here P.F. Chang's Bistro it was local and easily accessible because you all know I really wanted to go here MY FAV place to eat, but it's to far on a Friday night and the traffic to the city is CRazy. Especially if you are trying to do other stuff like the movies.

We shared the following:

Starters:

CHANG'S CHICKEN LETTUCE WRAPS

Quickly-cooked spiced chicken served with cool lettuce cups

CRAB WONTONS

Crunchy wonton filled with rock crab meat and served with a side of spicy plum sauce

DUMPLINGS
Handmade every day in our kitchen steamed or pan-fried

Main Course:

GARLIC NOODLES

Egg noodles tossed with garlic and chili peppers

CRISPY HONEY CHICKEN

Lightly battered and served in a sweet, flavorful sauce over a bed of crispy rice sticks

BEEF WITH BROCCOLI

Served Cantonese-style, tossed with steamed broccoli

MONGOLIAN BEEF

Our signature dish, quickly-cooked with scallions and garlic

SPICY GREEN BEANS

Stir-fried with Sichuan preserves, fiery chili sauce and garlic

Dessert:

BANANA SPRING ROLLS

Six warm, crispy bites with coconut-pineapple ice cream and drizzled with caramel and vanilla sauces

Six layers of rich chocolate cake frosted wtih semi-sweet chocolate chips served with raspberry sauce

To be honest the food was just okay.When someone is treating you out to eat its best to be gracious : )

and I am. The stand out dish was the mongolian beef. It was tasty, and the banana spring rolls umm YUMMY!

Saturday early evening  we went to Everett and Jones BBQ joint. The food was good. I love BBQ. This is where my mom wanted to go. Over dinner I received cards filled with money! My FAV gift. LOL!! They sang Happy Bithday to me over the hugest slice of caramel cake ever. Large enough to split with five people.

I had ribs, beef brisket, chicken and links with a side of potato salad. An drank lemonade/punch out of a jelly jar. You get a lot of meat. I will definitely be eating light and veggie tarian for a few days after this indulgence.  I rate the meal a B they need to trim the fat on the meat. Here are some pics of what they offer.
