Success on a Saturday

I found this list in Pinterest and seems like its been around for awhile. Reading the first suggestion struck me. I live around and see so many unhappy people who are miserable because of who they married. Who knew choosing a mate is really one of the most important decisions?

A pastor once said people marry people for the wrong reasons everyday. Men marry their baby mama and become an instant family, but they never should have had a baby together. People marry their one night stand, but they never should have had sex. People marry folks who they don't even know and are surprised when it doesn't work out.  No offense to anyone if this is your story just my opinion : )

He said wait for your wife/husband and marry them, not just some random person you fall in like with.

The more I look around I realize making a superficial decision would be the biggest mistake of my life. I'm waiting for the man that LOVES ME and I love back!  I want to feel it and KNOW it in my spirit.The waiting is hard, but now that I see the repercussions. I'll wait.

This a great list! I think if we strive to follow the things listed all of our lives really will improve. How many of the listed do you know you already follow?

P.S. I don't know what these last two posts are about. I guess I'm in an enlightened, reflective place.

Where is the LOVE button for this?!?! I wish I could love this numerous times! People nowadays marry just to say they have someone. All signs before they make their way down to altar point to disaster but they get stuck with that second-rate syndrome...they don't think they deserve someone better so they settle with second best. Not I said the cat. I'll wait for love and YES waiting is VERY VERY difficult but if waiting means I'll save myself unnecessary heartache then wait I shall.

Truly feeling this point - how many times have I done things for wrong and/or superficial reasons. I've lost count...

Your pastor has the right idea, and I believe that it would better suit anyone to really put much thought into a decision before making it a reality.

Cause we live with that same reality, both fortunately and unfortunately.

Great post, GP.

@Starrla
Thank you! :) I can relate to you're comment. I feel like I have had enough unhappiness in my life to not want to have an unhappy marriage and unnecessary heartache. Fell out@"Not I said the cat." Hahahahahaha! Girl the wait<<<<<<<<<<

@Don
Man, I'm so glad that I'm moving past being superficial I could've been caught up a few times in some ridiculousness.

Yes, that particular sermon was years ago, but it has always stuck in my brain.

Thank you! :)

There is certainly some good advice here.

P.S. I love this... said...

I agree with #1 wholeheartly. I've seen many get married by default, for whatever reason and it ended up be a diaster. Usually those folks stay together for financial reasons but "do them" on the side.

I NEVER EVER wanted to get married but I am and my happiness has grown exponentially. Who woulda thunk it? =)

@P.S. I'm happy that being married has increased your happiness. That's what I believe it is supposed to do, otherwise what's the point? I expect that choosing the right mate made it so. :) I want that for me so much. Cracksup@NEVER EVER
