Years ago I remember singing songs along with the choir as a kid and not really understanding the meaning of the songs.
This Sunday know that God is with you when you are going through struggles! This song says Don't Wait Til the Battle is Over Shout Now because you KNOW in the end you're going to WIN! Another of Walter Hawkins classic best!
Deuteronomy 20:1 When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, [and] a people more than thou, be not afraid of them: for the LORD thy God [is] with thee, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
Check out that choir! Back in the days before auditions.
Do you have a go to song or go to scripture when you feel like situations/people are against you?
Please pause the music player below, click the link and be encouraged. No matter what you're going through with God in your life you can win!

Thank you for this post. I've been dealing with a struggle or 2 that had me feeling kind of down today. Coming to your place today and reading this post reminded me to let it go and move forward in confidence. THANK YOU
And my go to song is:
Yolanda Adams- In the midst of it all
:) Happy Sunday!
@TOY Happy Sunday to you too! Glad it helped! I too have a few struggles I'm dealing with. I feel like enemies all around are trying to take me down, but I have to keep praising God and like you said keep moving forward!
I LOVE Yolanda Adams!!! She is on the list for Sunday S&S real soon. :) Take care!
I have an Old Testament go to--Psalms 37: 1-4; 12-15 and 23-29. Please read the entire Psalm and be blessed.
My New Testament go to is Philippians 8:8-13. Read the entire chapter and be blessed.
My go to song is Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah.
@mamasez Thank you!! I will read both books chapters. I need to google Guide Me,... Not sure if I heard it before. :)
Guide Me is old, oLD, OLD. It was one of those songs from the Mourners' Bench. Stop me if you have no idea what I'm talking about. Or let me know and I will explain it to you.
My daddy was a deacon and this was "his song" to lead. The song is special because of content and sentiment.
Okay you got me laughing @from the Mourner's Bench makes me think it's an old negro spiritual?
We went to a holiness church when I was a little kid that had the deacons sanging and such from their section (I use to crack up!) so I know what you're talking! about! I did a post about having to shake all of their hands after church and being freaked out by the one with the missing thumb.
Missing thumb? LOL. My daddy was the one with the missing pinkie!
Now you have me researching YouTube to find the right Guide Me for you.
This is the closest to what I'm accustomed to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pTu6oVyphc8&feature=related
Do NOT go to the classical versions. Definitely NOT the same. You gotta have the ol' Negro spiritual rendition.
@mamasez
ALRIGHT NOW!!!!! That version was the soul stirring rendition! LOL! Don't make me stand up an holla in here! *smile*
I see why it's your go to song. Thanks for sharing! And with the morning I'm having I NEEDED that!
Been so long since I have been on your blog that I had forgotten about the awesome playlist. Listening to Can You Stand The Rain while reading.
I remember that Deuteronomy verse, although I can never quite understand the entire book.
I find myself listening to Yesterday (Mary Mary) and reading Psalms 41. That usually gets the juices to flowing and the motivation to keep pushing forward.
@Don Hey man!! Thanks for stopping by! Missed you!
@ music :)Thanks!
Certain books of the Bible are very confusing! I will check out Psalms 41 and yes Mary Mary is one of my fav groups!
You have to have something to keep going through these trying times!
