Garlic Festival Highlights!!!!

The Gilroy Garlic Festival. click link to see who was there from Top Chef  has improved and is more organized. We went on Friday the 24th. The previous years I went on Saturday were way too crowded with long waits, and congested traffic just to get there. This time we decided to beat the crowds. We left early and arrived by 11:30am. We parked in the green parking lot and took an air conditioned shuttle up to the entrance. Cool and comfy!

Once inside we were able to walk around, eat food and enjoy the sights before the temperature went from 85 degrees with a slight breeze to Hell! LOL!

When the heat does get unbearable there is a rain booth to cool off in.

There was a cute little garlic mascot and people bought garlic hats to wear.

my favorite things to eat are the garlic bread, garlic fries, and garlic corn on the cob. I dropped my corn Boooo!

garlic scampi loaded with garlic, garlic bread, garlic mushrooms

They have a lot of other interesting food booths too.

Last but not least the deelish free garlic ice cream! The garlic bread booth is at the front near the entrance so by the time I got to the free ice cream my mouth was too garlicky. I could only taste the vanilla. Yum!

I love the festival but I really go to Gilroy for the GREAT!!! shopping at the Gilroy Premium Outlets.
I bought some fab stuff!

Overall we had a really looooong fun day. We got back home at 10:00 pm including the 1hr 30 min drive each way.

I love me some garlic too. Those fries looked delish! The only problem is garlic gets into my skin.. if I eat too much, my skin smells like garlic for days.. sooooo not cute.

Glad you had a good time.

Yum, yum, yum! Happy you had a great time. I would have simply died. I love garlic sooooooo much. Fabio is a cutie and his season of TC was fun to watch. I can't wait to blog about my TC experience!

Those garlic fries look like the business. Mushrooms as well. I have never heard of Garlic Ice Cream but I would be down to test a scoop.

"Free Tasting" sounds like a long long line.

@Don The fries were so good! I think the garlic ice cream is exclusive to this event LOL! It's really just homemade vanilla icecream with garlic added. The line for it went pretty fast. They somehow had them ready to hand to you soon as you got to the window.

*note* If you get a chance check out my 100th post. I gave you a shout out! *smile*

@mrstdj Wow a top chef experience? Can't wait to read it. It was so fun and the food was really good. I didn't get a chance to show the mutant garlic corn on the cob I dropped but it was huge! I loooove garlic too! LOL!
