THURSDAY's THOUGHTS...#21

1.When people don’t comment on my blog I think they think it’s closed for the day or I think Google reader is down or their blog link didn’t update. Get it together people! Comment! *smile*

2.I wrote something on Sept 2010 that continues to get hits from international/domestic readers. Please let me know what you goggled that brought you to my blog. THANKS!

3.The Giants won the 2010 World Series! I wasn’t that excited. I should be. I consider myself a Bay Area fan. Maybe I’m really an A’s fan. The Giants haven’t won the series in eons years. It really is a comeback/bad news bears/misfits kind of story. Coverage of the parade OMGeeeeeeee! Amazing! The players could have worn their uniforms or some type of similar attire like suits. They looked tacky! The t-shirts/sweatshirts and jeans BOOOOOOOOOOOO!

4.Times New Roman, Arial fonts etc. are all too basic. I do use them professionally because it’s appropriate, and I love comic sans for casual emails. But I love all the quirky fonts! Too bad the art of letter writing is not as popular because yes YOU would get a letter from me in Jokerman, curlz mt, tempus sans, and I’d love for you to try to decipher my wingdings letter. BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

5.I really thank God for spell check in Word and the preview button on blogger. Sometimes the stuff I write pre-checking is ridiculous. What’s up with using the wrong words?? By for buy, forgetting the ‘m in I’m, forgetting the r on your. Get it together GP!

6.I applaud all who got out and voted yesterday! I don’t consider myself very political, but as a sociologist and African American studies enthusiast, having knowledge about what our ancestors went through to get us to this place of equal rights and freedom to vote, it just touches a nerve when I see that right squandered. I saw this quote on another site and it is apropos. Voting is about more then just the election for African Americans. "It's about honoring those who stepped forward when others were thinking backwards"~unknown That said, The reign of the “Term.inator” is over and his female minion lost too!!!! Yaaay!

7.The music during chase scenes in movies and on TV shows crack me up! Also seeing people from other shows guest staring on my favs make me cackle too! When I saw Franklin from T.rue B.lood on C..SI Mi.am.i I liked to died! LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!

8.FYI: It was a beautiful, warm 75 degrees in the bay today, I checked the calendar to make sure it was November 3, 2010 people had on shorts. I wore a sundress and sandals.

9.Seen and Heard! Reality version: Today standing behind two men on the corner waiting to cross the street.
Man 1: Did you hear a man had a stroke up by the bank, probably in front of the ATM? They had the whole area roped off earlier.
Man 2: For real?? He musta gotta look at his account balance and couldn’t take it!

I hope the stroke victim is okay but I hollered when man 2 responded!

1. I love getting comments too.. especially from overseas. It's so cool! And of course a comment from GP just makes my day. =)

5. Yes, I always use spell check and dictionary.com..

8. Your seasons are mixed up.. you were cold in Summer, now warm in Winter (Fall). teeheee

I feel like the Hawk and his rowdy cousins been out..I've already pulled out my thermals.

1. I appreciate you stopping by also! :) I've never had an international comment. I see them looking though *shrugs*
5. Man! I need it too much.

I appreciate comments too. And questions. Its always nice to feel the love! Even if its a disagreeing comment, its all good...

Oh I love comic sans font! By far my favorite. What in the world is wingdings and webdings for anyway? I've never figured that out yet.

1. I don't always have anything to say so I don't always comment. My job also has some crazy filter that messes up or blocks random sites. I can't comment on TypePad blogs at all. A lot of Blogger blogs get blocked. I can read them in Google reader but can't view comments or post comments. Very annoying.

2. I don't know how to tell where readers are coming from! Is that a Blogger platform thing. Off to search for a Wordpress plugin...

@Janeen
1. Yeah me too. I like the back an forth, and I love to hear people's opinions about stuff!

4.For awhile at work all my emails I sent were in comic sans and my contact info at the bottom of the email was comic sans then another chick in the office stole my whole set-up she copied all my info and inserted her name so that was over *womp womp* LOL!

@keyalus
1. I've been hearing about the filters at some jobs. Booooooo to that! Don't they know we need to read blogs at work??? I can always find something to say. I guess...
2.It's the Feedjit I don't know if it's specific to blogger. But I found it on another blog and set it up here. Good luck with setting it up on your blog. It's super easy.

1. I know that feeling. I keep checking my blog for comments like "Hey! Where is everybody?"
2. I see international visitors every now and then and I am curious as to how my blog appeals to them too.
3. I am not a baseball fan. I didn't even know the WS was going on or over.
5. Yeah I have definitely let a few typos slip through. I am trying to be more conscious of it though.
6. I got my sticker!
8. Awww sounds perfect. It's getting too much like winter too quick around my parts. Gotta get me a ticket to the west coast.
9. Yeah, I would pass out looking at mine too.

@K Rock
1. Hey *waves* I was wondering where you were? I look for certain comments because they make laugh you are on that list!
2. There is something I specifically wrote that they keep looking at I'm very curious as to what that is.
3. I didn't either until the G's reached the playoffs and the news kept talking about.
5. I'm annoyed at me about it!
6. Yaay!!
8. It really was a wonderful day!
9. Me too! :)

Let me tell you about that Giants celebration. The busses were re-routed, so my stop that is in front of the buidling was 1 1/2 blocks away.
Once I was at work, that was it. No going in and out without problems. 2 of the 4 entrance/exits were closed. On each floor, the windows facing city hall were taken over.

*** We've had hot Christmas Days, and stormy Thanksgivings.

1. I know what you mean. I look forward to comments too. Guess I should try doing a new post if I want to get comments. LOL ;)

5. I am thankful for spell check too, but they should have it on everything! I always have to resist the urge to correct people's poor spelling on Facebook!

6. I am so glad they have mail in ballots now. I am not a very political person either, but like they say you can't complain if you don't bother to vote. Did you see/hear the "Rents too damn high" guy? Hilarious! He even had a song!

8. The weather has been like that here in CO too. Sometimes it gets annoying. You can't ever really put away your "summer" clothes, because you never know if it's going to be in the 70s again. It was nice to not have snow on Halloween this year though.

9. Too funny! I don't know about a stroke, but I could easily cry looking at my account balances!

1. I'm one of those folks that doesn't always comment. Sometimes I may not have anything to say or would prefer reading than commenting. How's that saying go? It's not you, it's me. :D

3. Who? LOL I'm not a sports fan by any means but I would at least consider going to a pro NFL\NBA game. Pro Baseball? Never.

4. Comic Sans is my fave font. I can't believe I just admitted that.

5. I usually go back and re-read my posts after publishing them to see how it flows. For some reason, I can catch grammatical errors or things I may have missed (but meant to mention) better that way.
My brain is quite retarded that way.

6. Thank you! Thanks to you too! AR was a bust for the most part but it was expected. May our new senator's fascist ways be short lived!

8. I still think about the bay area several times a week. That place really resonated with my soul man!!

9. HILARIOUS!!!

I was so hoping you commented! Thanks!!! I figured you had a first hand account of the madness!!!! The news said nearly
1 million people were in the city! WOW! Why was the library even open yesterday?

I remember the stormy Thankgiving but no hot Christmases like the weather of this week! It's too weird to me. I do like my winters cold.

@Mommy+me
1. Thanks for stopping by! Yes Ms. please post something so I can comment!! LOL!

@AR Gal
1. I appreciate when you do! We have a similiar sense of humor, and you crack me up!
3. LOLOLOL! The SF Giants. I'm not really into baseball but I like going to all types of live games Football, basketball and baseball.
4. Yeah comic sans made me happy! It's such a happy font!
5. I try to do a lot of previews.
6. It was so close here I was scared for a min. But the Dems managed to pull it out. Thank God!

1) I know that's right!
2) HAIRY APPLES.
3) Yawn.
4) I like Helvetica! I'm very, very font picky. Windows doesn't have enough fonts and Apple is touch and go there sometimes. I can infer feeling from fonts. My sister was like you're insane! And she's a graphic designer! For the record, you can't bring back the art of letter-writing by typing!!
5) You mean like how you wrote goggling in no. 2 and staring in 7? *innocent face*
6) YAY VOTING! I get incredibly indignant with non-voters. Like WHAT IS YO PROBLEM!?!?!
7) You are nutty.
8) It was chilly here and dropping into the low 50s, high 40s tonight.
9)No ma'am!

Gorgeous_Puddin said...

@Jameil
1. Yes!
2. Bwhahahahahaha!
3. O_o!
4. Helvetica hmmm... interesting. You know you post inspired this. My handwriting is atrocious. So a nicely typed letter it would be! On pretty scented paper!
5. Ahhh touche! Exactly!!! I am cracking up right now! And I'm not changing it! LOL!
6.Me too!! I just don't understand when someone says they don't vote.
7. I KNOW!
8. Nope another hot day! It was very nice.
9. yes!
