It's Sunday: Thoughts on prayer and a scripture

I just found this on Pinterest and it was so profound I had to post it. When I pray I normally pray about things that are affecting me at that moment, prayers of thanks or tangible prayers, but it has never struck me to pray for the impossible. What a profound concept! 

 I'm always speaking on or quoting the scripture...

Ephesians 3:20 Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us. 

Especially the above all I can ask or think part. And personally I believe I think BIG! But what about what's past my own thoughts? Bigger than me? Bigger than my wants or desires? 

Again, what a profound concept. What if I began to pray for things I think are impossible?

What would God do? 

Now that's taking Him out of the box!

The power that works in us is important too. People overlook that part of the scripture, but we obtain power from God through prayer and he can continue to bless as us as we stay connected to him. When my life gets crazy most times it's because I've slacked up on what I know to do which is Pray.

In My Ears...Mary J. Blige

I had the pleasure of attending the Mary J. Blige concert at the Sleep Train Pavilion in Concord, CA this past weekend for freeeeee. I had a really wonderful time. Mary J. is still her ghetto fabulous self! She was working a  lot of fitted jumpsuits, dresses and over the knee boots. She was in amazing shape!

My experience was enhanced by the amount of weed that was being smoked around us. I inevitably got a contact high that was out of this world. I haven't been high in years and it felt so strange.

Best part... I had snacks in my purse. So when the munchies hit I was READY! LOL!

I had a BALL!!!!!!!!!

I sang all the songs I liked to the top of my lungs and danced like a wild woman. If you follow me on twitter then you saw my blurry pics from the Keisha seats. Hahahahahahahaha!

 It was the best time EVER!! 

I really would like to start going to concerts again and the 2 I've attended so far was the kick off . I love live music so much. It will be great to just live and enjoy life once again.

Mary's set was good, but she didn't sing many of my favorites so I had to go to trusty YouTube to get the songs In My Ears. I could add more but I'll stop here. Enjoy!

It's Sunday... Be Encouraged.

For some reason last week was a struggle mentally and emotionally for me. Things are going good in my life, but like I said... last week was a REAL struggle. I felt insecure, sad, worried, scared, doubtful and a host of other emo feelings all week and I didn't like it at ALL. 

Things finally broke for me on Friday when I was sitting at my computer at work and clicked on the Yolanda Adams channel on my Pandora station ( instead of 2 Chainz). Right away song after song came on that were so encouraging I felt my spirit lifting. I had also called a friend and asked her to pray for me... so I'm sure that helped too.

It was so crazy for me, that I felt like I couldn't even pray for myself. I'm happy to have people in my life I can call that can get a prayer through on my behalf.

The last song I listened to before I left work (in the back to back encouragement song rotation) was in Love Like Crazy with God by Kierra Sheard. I was completely in a different place spiritually when this song went off.

I was all... GO GOD again... and I'm glad :) If you're reading this and going through something I hope YOU know that God LOVES you and wants you to be encouraged too! Happy Sunday!
