Resurrection Sunday Scripture and Song

Happy Easter Everyone!! I hope you are having a wonderful day with family and friends.

When I was younger I loved Easter! I enjoyed going to sunrise service, having breakfast at church, the big Easter egg hunt, Easter baskets, pretty dresses, chocolate bunnies, the pastor preaching "He Rose" and the choir singing "No Greater Love" Ahh the memories.....But when you grow up and learn the true meaning  of Easter and all it stands for and means, of course the experience is changed. I still enjoy Easter and thank God for it but not as much as I did when I was a kid!

Matthew 28:2 -7 And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow: And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead [men]. And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.

Tulips

My aunt really likes tulips. I'm so happy they bloom in Spring around her birthday and I always get her a really bright bouquet with yellow, orange, red or purple. Sometimes I even mix the colors...but this year I  just bought yellow.

As soon as I saw the yellow tulips they made me happy...I figured they would make her happy too. They did!

I must go get me my own to brighten up my space...you should too!

Thoughtfully…Thought-Out…Thursday…Thoughts #42

A deep thought....
1. My favorite aunt’s birthday is today! That use to make me so happy to say. I’m not sure how to proceed. My former favorite uncle’s birthday (her husband) was earlier this month. We weren’t invited to his dinner because his son’s mother in law planned the event. I hate that bitch…and this is why. My cousin's wife and family came in and divided a family that once celebrated everything together! Now we have all this division. Separate Thanksgivings, Christmases and now birthdays??? The only time we are all together is the big family picnic and super bowl Sunday.

I feel like my family was infiltrated and a hostile takeover occurred. It makes me sad in my heart that I have to be confused about how to honor my aunt on her day. I want to take her a strawberry cream cake and some flowers…and I will... it just won't feel the same. The saddest part is that she is at an advancing age and not in the best health. So I feel that time is precious and I should be seeing her all the time...but I don't feel comfortable anymore. It's awkard to feel left out of your own family. I use to visit her all the time. And now I haven’t seen her in two months. I think it’s ridiculous that this is happening. The state of my family has me more than ever wanting to leave and start over in another state.

2.If I hear this scripture justifying what's going on one more time I'm literally going to scream!!!

Genesis 2:24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. Umm...you didn't leave your father and mother you took them from us! and let that slut and her mother ruin our family.

3..:sidebar: I totally think my uncle is screwing the mother in law and I think the mother in law is waiting for my aunt to die. I HATE them!

So I have a better scripture...Leviticus 20:14 And if a man take a wife and her mother, it [is] wickedness : they shall be burnt with fire, both he and they; that there be no wickedness among you. doesn't really fit...but take out the it

Yeah so these are my thoughts...

UPDATE: I'm on my way to my aunt's house with gifts and food. She seemed really Happy to hear from me!

Movie Club: 127 Hours

Hello Movie clubbers,

I made a executive decision(lol K Rock) and picked "127 Hours" which is available on DVD everywhere including Netflix. We will meet online and review this film on Friday, April 29, 2011
I will do a post that day so we can give our opinions. I hope this doesn't interfere with anyone's viewing of the royal wedding. :sarcasm: okay not really.

Many of us have already seen most of the Academy Award nominated films. I'm thinking of doing an additional post were we can give our opinions about the movies we've seen so we can move on to other great films. The only movies I haven't seen are "127 hours", "Black Swan" and "The Kids are Alright", which I plan to remedy by the end of this month. In the future we will just choose between two films.

Plot: A mountain climber becomes trapped under a boulder while canyoneering alone near Moab, Utah and resorts to desperate measures in order to survive.

Thanks to all who've joined. I'm looking forward to the reviews, opinions and comments!

It's Sunday How bout a scripture and a song?

Psalms 128:2 For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy [shalt] thou [be], and [it shall be] well with thee.

I totally enjoy Kirk Franklin's music. He makes me want to start Krumpin. lol The first song was how I felt before I got my new job. Hard times can mess with your mindset and I listened to many gospel songs to stay encouraged.

The second song is how I feel now. I am immensely grateful that God saw fit to bless me when he did. Either way God was and is Good! Please pause the music player and enjoy!

Thoughtfully…Thought-Out…Thursday…Thoughts #41

1.Have you ever watched a movie that was absolutely horrible from start to finish due to a low budget, not acting or plot and thought it should be re-made?

2.I live in the city so I don’t normally see wild life but during the storms 2 weeks back I saw a dang salamander on my gate and this week somebody hit a POSSUM and it’s still dead in the street. EWWW!

3.This weeks episode really this whole season of The Good Wife was deep! I hate when I get so caught up in a show. That investigator got on my nervesI didn’t want Alicia to find out. The fall out from this is going to be crazy.

4.Every time I start an onDemand movie I get up and leave the room?? Then, when I see previews of the next episode I still wonder why I don’t remember seeing those scenes. SMH!

5.I’m not sure if I have a headband head. I have a hat head and hats look good on me but some headbands… I’m not so sure.

6.I dislike when people say don’t take it personal. Them: I did something foul but don’t take it…. Really?!? People do foul things all the time that I take personal. If it affects me isn’t that personal?

7.I always think maybe it’s just me… am I wrong to get annoyed if someone says in 48 hrs they are going to contact you and 3 days pass and you hear nothing. I feel like I gave you an extra day. I’m not sure if this is just a patience issue.

8.Bring on the vampires and werewolves #Trueblood

9.I missed the memo about Tax day being moved from the 15th to the 18th. Why is this?

10.What is all the hoopla about the royal wedding? Okay I get that…but what I don’t get is the replica ring commercials Boooooo! I know it's his mama's ring. Who cares? And who’s buying that fake and simulated ring ??

11.I heard humans have 3000 thoughts a day. This could go on FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

12.I’m not sure of the office dress code for my new gig. When I interviewed, dude had on a three piece suit  and the other person was business extremely casual. Help me out fashionistas. What should I wear for BITRR (back in the rat race) day 1???

13. Seen and heard: what do ya'll think about men/boys in colored fingernail polish? The debate on twitter was about pink and little boys.

It's Sunday How bout a scripture and a song?

1 Cor 16:8 Give thanks unto the LORD, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Psalms 106:1 Praise ye the LORD. O give thanks unto the LORD for he is good: for his mercy endureth forever.

Of course I have to Thank God for my blessing in the nick of time! Please pause the music player and enjoy another Walter Hawkins Sunday!

1.In my late nite insomnia shenanigans I’ve watched many episodes of Numbers and I want to know why did actor Ali.mi Ba.llard who plays the black guy lol David Sinclair have a missing tooth in the front in yesterdays episode? WTH??

2.Vera Wang is a top designer known for many things, most noted are wedding dresses. Did you know she collaborated with Serta and designed some mattresses?? Get yo money Vera!

3.When I watch movies I wait for them to incorporate the title of the movie into the scene. Does anyone else notice when they do that? Sometimes it fits, sometimes its dumb. I wonder when they started doing that and why?

4.Last week I ridiculed Extreme Couponing. This week I’m like how can I be down?? $600 for $6 Shoo me too!

5.I joined K Rock in her 5k a day quest for this month. I have too say it’s hard to workout everyday but I’m determined to make it to 4/30...Why? because this is my training for B2B.

6.I am super excited about my new job. I’m freaked out and siked that just when I thought all hope was lost and I was quitting my life something came through!! My goals are to pay my tithes, recoup my savings and buy something special every other month. Added bonus! Me and my sister will be able to go to lunch sometimes because she works in the area! Score!

7.I had no idea Gary Busey suffered a brain injury. How sad is that? I now have an explanation for his brand of crazy and it's no longer funny. It’s just sad. #CelebrityApprentice

8.You know how you're sitting in church and a really good choir starts singing then you hear someone shout out SAAAANG CHOIR!!! That’s me I can’t wait to go to church and do this. I’m planning on going on Easter like the rest of the 2x a year heathens.

It's Sunday How bout a scripture and a song?

Deuteronomy 13:3 Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

To me this scripture means that instead of just believing in what the prophets say, know God for yourself! Know God for what he means to you! Know God for what he has done for you! Know God for what he has brought YOU through!

This Sunday I'm taking it way back once again. Walter Hawkins songs have been on my heart and in mind for a minute. Every time I get lost in myself,  a good old church song puts things back into perspective for me. I have to stay focused and believe...as

Romans 8:28  says And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to [his] purpose.

And God is bigger than my problems!

Please pause the music player and Enjoy!
