THURSDAY THOUGHTS...#31

It's Thursday these are my thoughts...

1.This story right here!!!  OMG!!! How you just gon take somebody's baby????? from the hospital!! When I first read about it I was so happy the girl was able to find her real family. My next thought was arrest that kidnapping thief!! If this was your relative could you just sit by and watch her raise a child you knew she had kidnapped?

2.I only wanted to watch H.eavy so I could see Ricky Wayne shout “leave me alone” like he did during the previews. LOL! The fact that they called him “Uncle Bubba” did not surprise me either. I watched the entire episode and it was pretty good! I like to see the transformations. It makes you think tho.You never know where a person has come from weight wise.

3.I like the vibe of this song by Da.vid Ba.nner featuring Lu.dacris. D. Ban.ner is from the SIP and my peeps are from the SIP http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3oo3G-LjUmk

4.I found a few new beauty blogs. *happy dance*  As a confessed  product junkie, I like to read about new products the most. The posts with just video attached get skipped. *shrug*

5.The blogs with the task bar that pops at the bottom irks me. Why is that necessary??

6.I made it through my 21 day fast! 25 days of no C.oke. I really didn’t crave it after the first week. Then I really wanted one on 1/25. It was deelish.

7. People who say Holy sh*t. Why?? Who made that up?? That should be in the (“holyghost pumpkin” © Jameil) dictionary.

8.Of the two teams going to the Super bowl I had no idea who to root for, but then I remembered the quarterback for the GBP went to CAL problem solved! Go Aaron!

9.I am deeply disturbed by the idea of men wearing heels and carrying purses phenomenon per Ms. Law.rence?? and De.rek J. To my ATL readers, is this really the norm?? Do you see any of the ATL cast walking around??

10. I am deeply disturbed that Oprah just found out about a long lost sister. This story is bizarre and odd to me. I don't believe Oprah didn't know about the sister until this past Thanksgiving. I also don't believe they held the secret since 2007, but it made for a good show! And Oprah mother??? *side eye* If the daughter had not researched she would never know that Oprah is her sister. OPRAH IS HER SISTER!!!! If you found out you were related to Oprah what would you do/expect?

11. I really, really hate that kitten heels are making a comeback. Straight up HATE!! At 5'1 it's just a waste of heel and shoe!

12. I no longer like spaghetti pasta. I now heart angel hair pasta!!! But I still say I'm making spaghetti when I make a pot of spaghetti that's not spaghetti?!? LOL!

13. Seen and Heard  The videos on Youtube are hilarious! I love that people can just express themselves anyway they want too. NSFW! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0XGq18RKM2w NSFW!!!!!!

This Ship has sank..... insert sad face here :(

This post contains 3 different  posts that I wrote regarding my break up with theCaptain. We broke up after ANOTHER stupid argument which involved his family this time. To say I can't stand some of them is an understatement! If you care to look back at any of my old posts regarding him you can tell that our relationship was a hot mess. Up and down, back and forth, a real roller coaster. I initially started this blog to chronicle the ridiculousness.

Everytime I wrote a post and thought about posting it. I felt this overwhelming sadness and I couldn't breathe for a minute. Then the tears.

What really started to get to me was seeing other successful relationships around me and mine being successful one day and unsuccessful for 3 days, a week, 3 weeks etc. I just got tired of fighting.

I don't want to bash him because he was FUN!! When we weren't fighting we had a ball together. And I really love this man. I realized where I made my mistake with him. I would act really childish when he made me mad. The silent treatment is not effective in wanting to change someones behavior unless you're married and cohabiting! At least it didn't work for me. Okay it did work at first but it's effectiveness wears off.

Post One:
As painful as this has been I didn’t want to dedicate a whole post to it. Then I felt that adding it to a TT was not compassionate enough. There won’t be anymore theCaptain posts because we broke up for good in October. There I said it! Whew that was hard! We had been sort of ending since Sept. To keep it all the way real with ya’ll he is not husband material right now. He will probably make a woman really happy one day, and has the potential to be but... Oh yeah AND his family is crazy! the only bash.

Don at Minus the Bars had some good idea/bad idea’s that fit here.

Bad idea: to compromise your happiness

Bad idea: trying to force something that doesn’t fit

and even a tumblr on his blog said Never settle for less than you deserve

all of these where on the same day in the same week we were breaking up. I mean really! Don

That’s why I need a new blog name! My blog name became really apropos *sad, sad, sad face*
:(((((((( And I don't need the constant reminder…

Post Two:
Him: So you really mad at me huh?

Me: It’s more than mad I’m just tired.

Him: tired of what??

Me: THIS! I want more than this!

Him:  Man you trippin“THIS” is cool to me?!?

Me: Exactly “THIS” is cool to you

Him: What???

Me: *sigh*

Him: I thought I came over here to talk?

Me: Then talk!

Him: *glares at me*

Me: I’m not good with this stuff. I love you but I don’t want to do this anymore

Him: silence

Me: silence *tears*

Him: Ah hell you breakin up WITH ME????

Me: *more tears* I never responded

There was more but you get the gist. When he left we were semi-broken up. But to keep it all the way real he tried a little. He brought stuff by, he called me, I called him, we went to the movies, and out for a walk, out to eat and.... well you know.
It just no longer felt right.  He told me if he was ready to get married it would be me. I think if he wanted me he wouldn't let me go and if marrying me was what it took... *Sigh* But then who wants that?? I want a man to want to marry me, ask me, and give me this.

Post Three:

Pain: We finally broke up, parted ways, ended. This relationship has been so toxic and I can’t ignore this fact anymore.

Fear: Whose gonna love me now???? Lots of tears here really afraid that I will be alone forever with no one to love me.

Discouragement: I gave sooo much to this relationship! I was done, He was the ONE (for me?) or so I thought?

Disappointment: Alone again? I have to start this process over again with another man?!? Why can't I just find one or one find me, that just loves me??

So there you have it.

Stylish and Versatile Award

Stylish and Versatile Award

Well I'll be...honored! Again!! LOL! I just received my second blog award from Sherine at Confessions of A City Girl check her out!
The rules are: List 7 random facts about yourself and tag 15 other bloggers.  Wow 15??
I'm tagging 6 and mentioning 9 and including a random  factual paragraph.

Okay so I think these blogs are stylish and versatile!

1. Z at  P.S. I love this... - Her sense of style is absolutely fabulous! We've learned that we have A LOT of things in common and she is a great blog buddy!

2. Ishea at Six Twenty Seven  - I love her blog! She is cute as a button and even though she's natural she has me totally doing new styles with my hair!  She's also a new follower. Thanks girl!

3.  Kelly at Kellyinaday - I found her blog a few month's back. I read blogs like books (from start to current) and noticed in past posts that she is very stylish!  She is also a complete nut. Another laugh out loud blogger!

4 .  Jameil at The Record Dish - Although a place where she normally showcases food, the 30 for 30 clothes remix challenge introduced me to her sense of fashion and me likey. She is also very snarky and funny! The makings of a great blog buddy!

5. Bajan at Nobody's Princess -She's a fashion blogger out of Miami who dresses cute! I stop by her blog all the time to see what's she's wearing.

6. Tania at "HauteGirl"  Another blog I recently found and love! I like her style! She offers good make-up, hair and fashion tips!

Okay so the quest is to pick fifteen blogs. I don't comment on all the style blogs I go to but I decided to share the Fashion blogs that I Love, Like or just Look at!!

http://www.wheredidugetthat.com/

 http://www.dulcecandy.com/

http://fashiondujourdaily.wordpress.com/

http://www.meek-n-mild.com/

http://socalfashionista.blogspot.com/

http://whatiwore2day.blogspot.com/

http://theartofaccessories.com/blog/

http://karlascloset.blogspot.com/

http://kendieveryday.blogspot.com/

It's funny, I won this award and I was just discussing fashion and wanted to share my bargainista/fashionista tips. The reason why I can and do dress fabulously!

I love Mar.shall's, T.J Ma.xx and Nor.dstrom's Ra.ck for discount designer fashion. I get a complete thrill when items I have saved in my shopping carts at online stores are found in these stores.  I'm also an outlet queen. Off S.ak's the S.ak's 5th Ave outlet, Ban.ana Rep.ublic,  The G.ap, Ca.lvin Kl.ein LOVE it!

I shop Nord.strom's half yearly sale online and in the store. Bargains galore!! Most of the high end stores like Bloomies have sales like that.

I'm also signed up to a lot of online bargain sites like Rue La La, Ideeli,Gilt Groupe, Billion Dollar Babes, etc. These sites have bargains galore!! Mich.ael K.ors, Mis.soni, K.ate Sp.ade, all types of wonderful designers etc. at bargain prices, and I can't forget B.luefly.com

An honorable mention is R.oss and Bu.rlin.gton Co.at Fac.tory. If you go to the more affluent neighborhoods the R.oss stores there will have more designer clothes, shoes and accessories. My cousin used to work at the R.oss distribution center years ago and she let me know that the good stuff went to stores in Santa Clara, Danville, San Mateo, Palo Alto, Pleasanton, Sausalito, Walnut Creek and Corte Madera, and stores like Oakland and Richmond get the crap! Boo to that! Just BOO!

I only pay full price for designer purses and things I REALLY really like and know/think will be gone before they reach sale prices. But this is rare. The key to my style is the ability to mix high end and low end fashions together and still look F.L.Y!!!

So now you know where/how I shop!

THURSDAY THOUGHTS...#30

It's Thursday and these are my thoughts...

1.After watching an episode of The Good Wife (love this show) I realized how much of your life is in the hands of the D.A. and lawyers. There was a lot of back and forth about how many years in prison to sentence. It was like some type of game. I really hope it’s not like that in real life but I have a sinking feeling it is. Dear Lawd please keep me from committing a crime. Thank you!

2.People who use Irregardless Umm yeah that’s not a word. My question, who made up this word???? I have my nerve with as many grammatical errors as I make. LOL!

3.Has anyone seen the ASPCA commercial about the poor cats and dogs. I HATE it. Roberta Flack singing the first time ever I saw your face?? And the sad, sad faces. Stop it! I can’t! Also, the curly blonde weave she wore in the commercial. BLONDE???? Who is your stylist??

4.And what is about all the infomercials talking about if you call in the next ten minutes you get this savings?? Yeah right! I waited a whole hour then called. Guess what??? Same savings!! I just confessed to buying something off of the TV. A ShamWOW was calling me LOL!

5. I watched the Katy Perry E! special. Who knew she came from such a strong, rigid, restrictive Christian background?? No radio besides Christian music, MTV was blocked and she started off as a Christian music singer. From that to “I kissed a girl and I liked it” ?? Her father was turning back flips until they got that CHECK!

6.There are several movies I can watch over and over, The Devil Wears Prada is one and Bride Wars is slowly becoming another. Why??? Because HBO keeps playing it over and over.

7.I’ve noticed I’m lazy when it comes to changing the channel. I hate channel surfing! That’s how I end up watching all these weird shows and movies that I wouldn’t see if I changed the channel. Oh yeah and why do men like to change the channel SO MUCH?? Hmm something else to ponder? Can this be a metaphor for relationships??

8.I so need to update my blog roll on both blogs. I’ve found some more crazy funny bloggers and some FABU fashion/beauty blogs.

9.Looking at many of the home design blogs has me yearning for real furniture. What’s that you say?? Yes REAL! I want items from real furniture designers of the past and present. I consider my sense of style contemporary and realized there is furniture out there for me. I also concluded that I have knock off furniture of actual real designers! Imagine my horror! I would NEVER wear a knock off designer clothing item or accessory. This realization has me shook.

10.On another note I will wear a shoe by a real designer who kinda knocked off a higher end designers shoe. Remember these???

Loubou

Say hello to these!!!!!

Of course the Lou Bou's are still the most fab but, My new boo is Sam Edelman.

11. Super excited about this year's San Francisco's Dine About Town 2011 event!! and this year Oakland is joining in on the fun with an Oakland Restaurant Week of their own! I need thousand's of dollars for these events. Thousand's! LOL!
Who says stuff like that???? HER! BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!  Those points were laugh out loud funny! This is why I started Seen and Heard!

Happy M. L. K. DAY!

repost remix

What are you doing today to honor the memory of this legendary civil rights hero?

Martin Luther King was more than just his "I Have A Dream Speech." He was a husband, a father, a preacher, an activist and most of all a man. His legacy paved the way for our current African American president Barack Obama.

I really like this picture of him. He looks so serene and thoughtful.

Today is a great day to reflect on what privileges you have obtained because of the sacrifice of our fore-fathers.

It's Sunday.... A positive tumblr

In the spirit of the new year...

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.  2 Corinthians 5:17

The Best In Me by Marvin Sapp. This song right here!!!!!!!!!! blessed me. It is great to know that God sees the best in us, even on the days when we can't.

THURSDAY THOUGHTS...#29

1. Attack a teacher day campaign on FB story here REALLY!!!??? The kids??? SMH. These little heffas need to get got with like this youngster right here! I love the kids but some need an old school arse whoopin. For the record I would so fight a kid if they were about to attack me! #don't-try-me

2. What’s up with the random followers on Twitter? I don’t know these people why are they following me??? Umm I know they don’t know me, but I would not buy or drive a RV.  My twitter is @Gorgeous_Puddin in case YOU want to follow me.

3.Saturday I watched a re-run of Inside the Actors studio with Dave Chappelle. It made me miss him more!! #comebackdave. I'm following him on Twitter he's still a nut!

4.Either I have a mild case of A.D.D or I spend way to much time getting snacks while I’m watching TV. Quite a few re-runs have scenes I’ve never seen! How is this possible???

5. All the dudes playing football with long hair hanging out the back of their helmets look like thugs and hillbillies playing each other. #get-a-haircut

6. Make-up makes me really happy. Especially lip-gloss!! *dances a little* I found some of my FAVORITE discontinued colors on EBay. Color me SIKED!!! *dances again*

7. Speaking of make-up, white eyeliner/shadow on black people is ghetto if not properly blended! Don’t just line your eyes with white eyeliner on your lash line, eyelid or below your brow. You look like a clown. Just thought I’d throw that in. #justsayin

8. I love watching oldish (90’s) movies and seeing stars in current films and realizing they’ve been acting awhile.

9. You know, calling people all these NEW terms is irking me. My stylist use to be my hairdresser and a relaxer was just a perm. #team-do-my-own-hair

10. Onetime I said the meanest, rudest thing to somebodies grandmother (she was in her 50's not 80's). Everybody in the family is... let’s say facially challenged, (unfortunate looking) ugly EVERYBODY!! One of the woman's son’s had a beautiful baby girl with a facially challenged woman. I mean an absolutely beautiful baby. One of the prettiest babies I may have ever seen. I THOUGHT TO MYSELF HOW DID THAT HAPPEN??? I SAID “Wow she is gorgeous. I know you were surprised somebody made a pretty one.” Who says that??? To this day I’m still embarrassed when I think about it. #shame-on-me

11. I like the new Target commercials. Did you see the one for mouthwash?? The wife is doing a crossword puzzle and the husband walks up looks at the puzzle and say’s JO_JO_BA all extra breathy (J is a H sound) She frowns at his stinky breathe. #seen-and-heard

12. Clearly I'm late to the paarty but twit.ter is the ish to me. I'm all hashtag crazy #########.

It's Sunday How bout a scripture and a song?

Whenever the Lord says peace....

Phillipians  4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Romans 5:1   Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

Hi all this is my first Sunday S&S. I hope this Sunday finds you warm, happy and blessed.
I said something a bit profound to me *smile* in an email that I wanted to share. The new year is a time of renewal. A time for fresh starts,  new beginnings and hopefulness. I love January and the hopefulness it evokes in people, myself included. Every year I get super excited about life and the new things that I have a chance to experience because I made it into the new year.
The flip side of that is sometimes the new year brings sadness tragedy and confusion for some. Last night I said bad things happen and It's like a challenge to see if you can hold on to hopefulness.

Last year I allowed myself too many days of hopelessness.I decided whatever this year brings I plan to hold on to hopefulness. I think reading the bible combined with praying everyday, I just might make that goal!

Years ago Vanessa Bell Armstrong recorded a song titled

There is something about how the old church songs have an anointing that just soothes the weary soul and brings PEACE. The country is once again in turmoil from the senseless tragedy that occurred in Arizona yesterday. We need Peace!!! Please click the link and enjoy the anointed voice of Vanessa Bell Armstrong! This song took me THERE this morning. THIS IS THE BEST VERSION I'VE HEARD. I HOPE IT BLESSES YOU TOO!

Happy New Year!

THURSDAY THOUGHTS...#28

1. Every year I have a dilemma when it comes to choosing a calendar. I don’t like paying for calendars at all. And I really don't know why. Maybe it's because someone always gave me a calendar at the beginning of the year. But now the free or cheap calendars SUCK! And the really good calendars cost more than I want to pay. So what’s a girl to do??

2. I cracked my big toenail! It hurt so much, but I refuse to let it go. I would have to walk around with a bald toe. Too vain for that! Thank God it’s boot season! My first solution  to secure it in place was a band-aid but that didn’t work. Then I tried regular tape but each time I showered it would get looser and looser and jeopardized me losing the nail, but then I found this great youtube video on a blog and dude this works! My toenail is secure to grow out without coming off. Check it out! It works for nails too!

3.The Peoples Choice Awards were hosted by Que.en La.tifah. Question?? Why does Que.en Lati.fah keep singing????? She can’t sing to me. I hate her voice and I want her to STOP! However, I like her acting and can’t hate on her rise to fame. Also, she looked a mess in the pink dress she wore last night.A MESS!

4. The Kar.dash.ians. I’ve already admitted to secretly watching the show. They are my guilty pleasure. But Umm do they have to have so many shows?? Kourtney and Khloe in Miami. Kourtney and Kim in New York and now Khloe and Lamar are doing their own show! It’s too much but I’m still going to watch. LOL!

5. I boycott movies until they come on HBO. Then I watch them. Am I a hypocrite??

6. The weirdest things bring me joy! I was watching an old episode of CSI Miami and when Horatio Cane rolled up his sleeves to kick a child molester’s azz at the end of the show. It gave me LIFE!!!

7. My favorite kid cereals do not taste the same! In an effort to make all things sugary more healthy they (da man) are killing my cereals. Honeycomb just doesn’t taste the same Booooo! And what happened to Alphabets????

8. I can’t believe it took me this long to get on Twit.ter. I like Tweeting! LOL! I do need to figure out some stuff to tweet about though. I already see what people are talking about. I’m only following a few people and I’m ready to unfollow them.

9. I think a real problem has developed with my spelling. I’m starting to replace words that sound the same more often. I don’t like this! It makes me feel look dumb. O_o

10. Here they go with those dang devil movies again!! Really?? Again?? It's called The Rite and the previews are scaring me! BOOOOOO!

11. I decided to do a 21 day fast from Co.ke, guess what I got in the mail?? A coupon for a free 12 pack of Co.ke! LOLOLOLOL! O_o

12. I haven’t Seen or Heard anything really funny okay I have but it would  be too mean to put here well except Jameil writing I should stop guzzling C.oke like the secret of life is at the bottom of the bottle. That was funny to me!

If at first you don't succeed...GOALS 12 - 2010 Update/WRAP UP!

As 2010 comes to a close here is my late wrap-up of my goals for the month of Dec.

1. Exercise 3 days per week. Which includes walking 4 miles on Saturday 4x this month, using the Total Gym 2x per week. And I'm starting the 100 push up challenge/squat, I read about on Nerd Girl's blog
Hmmm Let's see I was fired up at the beginning of the month. It was very cold and rainy so I did a bit of treadmill walking instead of walking the trail about 2 days per week. I started the push-up challenge and promptly stopped. LOL! to be con'td in January.

2. Spend more time in prayer and continue to look for a church, and visit churches!
I went to the most amazing revival for 3 nights. The minister was a really anointed/gifted speaker. It was wonderful and just what I needed for my soul.  I had a wonderful time in the Lord the first night. I let myself be distracted the 2nd night because my old church came. Hmph!! I was vexed! But the 3rd night was back on point for me. Just a blessing! I miss going to church regularly so much! However, being amongst my old church members reconfirmed THAT IS NOT THE CHURCH FOR ME! I hate those people! Pray for me! I really have to get this church thing together. I prayed a few times, but I  clearly need to pray much more. How you gon be hatin church folks?? LOL!  I feel like such a holy ghost pumpkin!

3. Keep applying for jobs with better pay.
I have applied for some really good paying jobs. With this economy the competition is fierce! I recently took a test for a county job with nice pay. There were about 90 people at this test! I passed the test and received a letter for the interview on 12/29. Hmm how should I say this the interview was interesting. It was a panel interview with about 5 very bored with life individuals. Maybe due too the many interviews that day! The creator of the test let's call him L.A.M (little asian man) was a part of the interview. He said I had an interesting view on management. I said Thank you. Somehow I don't think it was a compliment. Anywhooooo I put my best foot forward. I was confident I was nervous as heck and I was understated fly . We shall see. But, I am more optimistic. If it's not this position then God must have something super amazing in store for me!

4. Cook and eat healthy meals more days per week, cutting out fast food and high sodium meals.
I ate fast food four times. Almost five, but the food was old at W.endy's so I returned it and got my money back. I did eat a salad at Jack's.Box.  O_o So does that count as three times?? It was the holidays pish posh on the sodium I cooked and it was good!

5. Ooops!!! O_o Bwhahahaha! Thanks Jameil!

6. Continue to be frugal with my spending and use coupons when shopping for everything.
I did shop sales and all the online shopping I did included percentages off with free shipping! SCORE!

7. Drink 64 oz of water a day, and cut back on C.oke.
What do you think??? LOLOL! I did include water most days of the week. There were four (yes four) 2 liters consumed by the end of December.

8. Re-line cabinets and drawers in kitchen. Get rid of old storage containers. Rearrange pots and pans. Buy new flatware. Clean oven.
Oven cleaned!! I received new cookware for Christmas so the rearranging continues. I still have not purchased the new flatware I wanted these from Target but the reviews are so horrible. I have some smoke black glasses, and these fab plates and that flatware would go just nicely.

9. Go to the library and check out a book and read it!
I passed the library six times and did not want to go in. O_o! I did start re-reading The Purpose Driven Life.

10. Take pictures of my shoes and tape to shoe boxes and/or purchase clear see through shoe boxes.
Many of my shoes are back in the boxes and neatly arranged on the floor. I still need to take the pictures which is why the boxes are on the floor and not in the closet on the shelf. The clear boxes still need to be purchased for the shoes with damaged boxes. I forgot Christmas was coming when I added this goal I used the money to buy gifts.

11. Color coordinate my closet.
Nope not done.  I Really need this to happen!

12. Buy storage bins for misc. items in bags in storage area.
Nope not done.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WISHING YOU ALL A WONDERFULLY  BLESSED NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!
